As I used to live in Minneapolis, I was perusing the StarTribune earlier and caught an article titled, "Reporter who once bashed state now moving here". I had to click on the article to see what this basing entailed off.
Apparently someone put together a calculation of best/worst places in the US based solely on geography / climate (mild summers and winters, changes in topography, and close to water). Somewhere in Minnesota or North Dakota was last and an author I guess wrote that they finished last on the list. The author was then subsequently attacked for "bashing the state" and many people had a fervent. Seems pretty thin-skinned.
I would be tempted to say Minnesotans take the cake but being an Iowa fan, it seems like our fans (thus many residents) are also very thin skinned. I feel like I hear national football and basketball media often make comments about our fans going crazy on twitter or email if they say anything less than positive about us.
Anyone have experience with a worse state or group than the aforementioned? Save the libs/cons crap if someone was going to start with that.
