What are some "worth the wait" character arc films you treasure? Want to illustrate patience in a presentation and just drawing a blank... Thanks in advance for any help.

Maybe there aren't many.

The movie itself would be Boyhood that took like a decade to film.

Patience is usually mixed with hard work so how about The Imitation Game? I love the Heil Hitler scene for the breakthrough but the kept trying over and over and failing when they couldn’t break that day’s code by midnight.

I feel like there's some obvious story a la The Count of Monte Cristo where a character has to spend their whole life almost before achieving their goal or quest. And, they learn patience as they proceed.

The film "An Affair To Remember" with Cary Grant
and Deborah Kerr. This 1957 movie is one of the
great romantic encounters of the 20th century.

The Straight Story is a good one and a chunk of it takes place in Iowa.
Fantastic movie that everyone should see at least once. Richard Farnsworth gave a great performance as Alvin Straight and the scene where he and another WWII vet share war experiences that still haunt them is brilliant.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade works twofold. Indy’s dad got to experience the power of the Holy Grail after many decades of research. And maybe more importantly he begins a new relationship with Indy.

OP starts a thread about patience. Soon after nobody has responded to OP, OP quotes himself and posts again. Patience irony.
