MSU has already shown they couldn't finish our schedule undefeated...

...so they shouldn't be saying anything negative about our schedule. Say what you want about our season but we are 12-0. If MSU had played the same schedule, at best they'd be 11-1.

I think it'll be a close tough game Saturday. We have the advantage IMO. We are the underdog (and seem to play well in this capacity) and are fairly healthy coming in. I predict an Iowa win. I respect MSU and their season, but I'm calling an Iowa win.

I don't know about that, I would of hated losing to the fuskers like they did. That call was weak against them.

It was weak. But, no excuses. We shouldn't have let ourselves be in that position. Hopefully we get some guys healthy and continue the improvement of the last couple weeks. Go Green!

no disrespect intended, but this is a silly thread. While they have a worse loss, they also have a better win. At this point the schedules don't matter. Just line up and play. Here's hoping to an injury free game that is not impacted by officiating. May the best team win.

No disrespect felt. BUT, my post stands, silly or not. We may have finished their schedule undefeated (maybe not, we'll never know). But they wouldn't have finished ours undefeated. That we know. They got screwed on the one game they lost, but it's still a loss.

It really doesn't stand. We would have played Nebraska this past weekend with a healthy secondary so our safeties could play their natural positions. Don't think Nebraska would have beat MSU on Saturday the 28th of November. I agree with the ridiculous post comment.

We're not getting the benefit of the doubt like Alabama with the 1 loss, but it's all still in front of us. We're already in playoffs. Win and we're probably #3 or #4 in the CFP. Lose, and we're probably bounced to a nice matchup in a New Year's 6 bowl.

No. It's NOT the same. We also wouldn't have faced
Oregon, nor Michigan (away). Maybe without those games we would have had the energy/emotions/wherewithall to beat Nebraska? This post is kind of a reach man.

Did you forget OSU?

This right here is a stupid comment

I'm tired of hearing about the schedules. Nebby is always tough at home and especially for MSU. I know the Spartans wouldn't want to play the Badgers at Camp Randall, either.. Great thing is it will all be answered on Saturday in Indy. Iowa is only a 3.5 point under. I expect a tough fought close game that will be remembered for many years.

Iowa also wasn't in a position to need a miracle like we saw in the Michigan game either.
That said, none of that matters at this point. Things shook out how they did and Saturday will decide which team gets to represent the B1G in the Playoffs.

Weak when it's NU but same call for MSU, 2 actually, and crickets... At least that has been consistently called. What about the missed targeting on Westerkamp? Was that weak too?

Regardless of all this speculation over schedules and who would do better - the fact remains that if not for completely inept officiating at the very end of the game in Lincoln against Nebraska Michigan State would be 12-0 as well.
That is all well and good if you completely overlook the fact they got the biggest gift in the History of Big Ten Football at Ann Arbor................................

I'd say their fortunes kind of evened out, and not sure how anyone could argue that to be honest.

I wouldn't argue it either way. Let's enjoy the ride this week and then have a great game on Saturday. Either way the B1G wins and if the Hawks beat MSU next week then I'll be a Hawkeye 12/31. I wouldn't expect anything different from Iowa fans.

Well, I was pulling for Ohio State last year, so if I can muster THAT, for damn sure I could cheer for Sparty..................................

Hopefully I won't have to make that decision................

Both teams are what their records say. A loss is a loss, is a loss...of course unless you're Bama. It should be a great game.

Ok. Thanks.
I apologize. I was super moody last night. In hindsight my comment was worthless and just as stupid.
All im saying is fans of every single team in the country can use that metric and say "well, we beat so-and-so by more points than that team, so our resume is actually better!" Or blah blah blah. We've all heard it all by now. I just know that Mich. St. has beaten two CFP teams from last year this season (including @ the Nat. Champ w/o its starting Sr. QB) and they just demolished a decent PSU team, so it's understandable why Spartan fans and 'experts' see MSU's team and resume as superior to Iowa's
But that whole conversation is pointless to have at this point, because Saturday's game is the only thing that matters now. I'd just rather talk about the on-the-field matchup for the game instead, but I get that these are things fans talk about. I suppose I could leave just this thread because no one forced me into it in the first place lol.
Anyway, On Iowa!

Go Hawks! It's gonna be a fun week and awesome game.
