This has been on my mind a lot lately. I am going to go with:

4)Leshan Giant Buddha in China: crude yet imposing in it's own way.
3)Crazy Horse Memorial: will be breathtaking once completed.
2)Confederate Memorial ai Stone Mountain in Georgia: nuff said. And finally,
1)Mt. Rushmore. I know it seems cliche but it really is the Mt. Rushmore of mountain carvings.

Just a few days after the NAACP issued a call for the removal of the mountain’s iconic Confederate carving, a petition of a very different ilk has surfaced online.

Started by artist Mack Williams, it’s addressed to Georgia’s state house, state senate and Gov. Nathan Deal.

The goal?

To have Outkast’s Big Boi and Andre 3000, Atlanta’s most beloved hip-hop duo, carved alongside Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.

“By no means do we wish to erase or destroy the current carving, which, regardless of its context, is an impressive and historic work of art,” the MoveOn.com petition says. “We simply wish to add new carvings, of Atlanta hip-hop duo Outkast, to the mountainside. There’s plenty of room.”
