Murray...

Well, many here have stated it’s not who starts , but who finishes and Murray was in for the last 3 minutes of game, taking CMacs minutes

and even without Nunge, Fran keeps Murray restricted to 21m🤔

My only complaint with KeMur is that at times he tries to hard to take the game over instead of working within the frame work of the offense. He made a couple of poor decisions today that could have been avoided if he settled down. Other than that he's solid and should be considered for BIG 6th man. He has also exceeded my expectations for the season.

A truly awesome look back to when the Murrays were first discussed on this board.

A few notable quotes

If Fran offers those kids a scholarship he should be fired on the spot. I have always been a Fran supporter, but having 4 open scholarships and filling them with zero players with other P5 offers is pathetic and is completely unacceptable.

Nah, no way in hell would Fran sign 4 players with exactly 0 P5 offers, right? Right!?!?!!

I am in the Prairie district. I am in general a Fran supporter but if these guys are being signed to scholarship, that is a huge let down and very questionable based on the handful of games I saw. They better have improved a lot very quickly to be getting scholarships

It may be true, but if it is Fran should just quit at this point. There's absolutely no reason to offer and accept their commitment during the early signing period unless you are just giving up on recruiting. They may be nice players but come on

There’s more but a good start

Probably more out of trying to keep him healthy than anything else. This team can't absorb any more injuries.

He forces things very little I would say. Easy to nitpick but maybe fran has told him to be more aggressive. I think he will settle down the more he plays and def has exceeded my expectations also !

Oh I'm picking nits alright. He plays very fluid, just at times I get the feeling he thinks things are getting stagnant and pushes it more than he should, if that makes sense. Again, he has far exceeded my expectations, especially on the D side of life.

I’d actually argue I’m happy he tries to find his shot! We don’t have enough of those guys IMO. Keep driving Keegan

Wow! This was fun to go through. Thanks for posting it. I’m new to boards, although I’m pretty old. Maybe the oldest person here. :) But I have to say, I’m somewhat disappointed with how some people make uniformed comments on this board! How judgmental they are. How unappreciative some fans are of the kids who have made us a legitimate top ten team this year. Those 9 pages just confirmed much of what I believed about “Some” of our fans. Having said that, there are also great posters on this board and I thoroughly enjoy reading their comments.

Seems like a pretty thin complaint for a frosh.

My apologies then I just took those off the heading. Anyway I never complain about schollie offers, happy it’s not my job to decide who in high school is going to turn into a great college basketball player. I tend to like any players selected and just hope, lol. For instance I liked Brandon Hutton and thought he’d develop . Still he came and did his best but never developed much of an offense, so move on. Murray is a good story and fun to watch play

People are who they are. We’ve all probably made some uninformed, short sighted posts/comments in our lives. Sometimes it’s good to go back and have a laugh at how wrong we were. (Although thankfully I did not disparage the signing of those two).

No worries. We are all Hawkeyes.

An absolutely great sign. I for one have gladly eaten my initial thoughts and words. Once you actually watch the Murray's academy and home footage you just had to think we signed two very good players.

The kid has shown good skills in almost every facet of the game. It has been years since Iowa saw a guy with a better nose for the ball, if ever. Missed two or three chances to score by short arming some deep inside shots. Although, I guess there's one I'm thinking of that did involve some massive uncalled fouling.

Anyway, Ke Murray brings a lot of game to Iowa. Think Kris will make the fans smile next season too.

The kid has the talent. Only way he is going to get better is by being aggressive. That same type of short sighted thinking by Fran has kept the Keegan an others on the bench. Only way this team makes a deep run is with improved defense...that means more Keegan, more JoeT, less CMAC, less JBO. Pmac can also play some 4. CMAC and JBO have a big role, but at less minutes. Would like to have seen some Kris in to end the game. Any team with good bigs is going to stress Iowa front line with fouls now that we don't Nunge.

There’s another player on the team who made you eat crow about your “scouting report”.

What plays? He gets nothing ran for him on the offensive end of the floor. Just asking from a coaching perspective. If you are talking driving where the spacing isn't great. I am just trying to remember the plays you are referring to?

It was a dumb comment, KM is a stud and hope he continues to be more aggressive

Garza also played a highly effective 38 minutes so there wasn’t much need for the “backup 5.” Keegan took those minutes when Luka went to the bench though, and I imagine he will continue to do so when LG has off nights or gets fatigued

Let's give Fran a lot of credit for offering the Murrays.

The fact that it was on CBS helped with the rotation. More commercials that were longer than on other networks. Help get the guys the rest they needed without losing game time.
