Musk threatens to walk away from Twitter deal

Josh Wolfe, known $TSLAQ member?

No wonder you have such terrible takes. Getting bad info from short and distort criminals.

When these people write these tweets and stories they do not tell you they have large short positions and Put options that stand to gain on the price of $TSLA stock lowering. The hit piece dropped by BI a few weeks back likely netted them millions of dollars.

They need unwitting marks like @WDSMHAWK to propagate their material and also use bots to spread their lies. They do not want Elon anywhere near Twitter ownership and neither do several other very powerful people and certain countries.
You gonna cry? Get it all out lil fella

What? Educating simpletons that full on criminals don’t make the best sources is a thankless task.
Well thank you. He might not be the richest man anymore after this. I think he’ll get by though. It goes to show even brilliant people are susceptible to emotional decisions

I agree with him but there is a right way to do it and a wrong way. The wrong way is doing it with multiple women.

The right way is by doing it with one woman your wife.

Another right way to help out might be by providing paid parental leave and free childcare for your employees.

What he's doing is about the same as saying "Crime is a problem" and deciding to become a vigilante laying out some street justice.

Lets see if he follows through.

Judge orders Twitter to give Elon Musk former executive's documents

“WILMINGTON, Del, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Twitter Inc (TWTR.N)needs to give Elon Musk documents from a former Twitter executive who Musk said was a key figure in calculating the amount of fake accounts on the platform, according to a Monday court order.

Bot and spam accounts on Twitter have become a central issue in the legal fight over whether Musk, who is Tesla Inc's (TSLA.O) chief executive, must complete his $44 billion acquisition of the social media company.

Twitter was ordered to collect, review and produce documents from former General Manager of Consumer Product Kayvon Beykpour, according to the order from Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Twitter and lawyers for Musk, the world's richest person, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Beykpour, who left Twitter after the social media company agreed in April to be acquired by Musk, was described in Musk's court filings as one of the executives "most intimately involved with" determining the amount of spam accounts.

Beykpour did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent through LinkedIn.

McCormick said in her order on Monday that she was denying Musk's request for access to 21 other people with control over relevant information.

Musk's legal team had written to McCormick last week asking her to order Twitter to hand over employee names so they could be questioned. read more

Musk accused Twitter earlier this month of fraud for misrepresenting the number of real active users on its platform, which Twitter has denied. The company has accused him of breaching his agreement to acquire the company and wants McCormick to order him to complete the deal at $54.20 a share.”

Now why in the world would the central figure in twitter’s fictional spam/bot count figures (and their related SEC filings) immediately leave the company upon news of a private takeover?

Funniest part I'd heard, was that Musk's "bot detector" had targeted his own account as a "bot"...

Any updates asked for by the judge on Musk not being able to swing the deal financially?

I honestly am confused by this post. If you are asking whether the judge has asked whether Elon can afford the deal? I don’t know if that has been made public. To answer the question whether he can afford the deal, here is an answer from an investment manager & former CEO at AEGON. Gary Black

You mean the CEO? Is it really that strange that the CEO would leave once it's announced their company was being purchased by someone, especially someone they may not want to work with?

Elon has been selling twitter shares so he needs to buy more than this shows.

What?
Did you not read the post/article in the post immediately preceding that one?

Link?

How many public shareholders will not sell and take ownership of the private corporation common shares? This is an option as well. Which means he will not have to buy them and will need less money to close.

Uh oh!

New whistleblower allegations could factor into Twitter vs. Musk trial

Twitter’s former security chief alleges that the company is hiding the ball when it comes to spam and bots

“Zatko, a well-known figure in the security community, alleges Twitter is not incentivized to tally the true number of bots and spammy accounts on the service, which counts 238 million daily users. And he lays out another argument that could give Musk a potential boost in his fight to prove Twitter broke its contract when he agreed to acquire the company for $44 billion: that Twitter deceived regulators regarding its defenses against hackers.”

“Twitter executives have little or no personal incentive to accurately ‘detect’ or measure the prevalence of spam bots,” the complaint alleges, adding “deliberate ignorance was the norm” among its executive team.”

This is the site people want to dub "the town square"? Great choice everyone.

One might say it needs fixing.

Twitter’s incentives are currently aligned with allowing bots to flourish. They have not and will not meaningfully address this issue.

To remove bots from their platform is to decrease their own revenue streams, lower the stock value, and lower their own compensation awards of that stock.

Not going to happen. Which is why Musk wants to purchase it and reform it for the better.

Twitter lied about Zatko the whistleblower. They fired him when he raised concerns on bots/spam. Then they lied and said he wasnt involved.

Twitter hiding details of open investigations against Twitter. SEC, DOJ, French & Irish authorities.

Twitter also lied about their SEC filing and had to amend the filing 3 days after the agreement was signed to try and cover their asses.

Twitter is rotten to the core.

Musk tried to buy Twitter and underestimated how much that would impact Tesla's stock price. When Tesla started to crater he latched on to the "number of bots" something that is difficult to prove/disprove and is trying to cut his losses and attempt to back out. Pretty easy to see what happened here for everyone besides the Elon fan boy in this thread.

Elon has been complaining about bots for years. Guess being ignorant and spouting off anyways is en vogue.

In summary, founded companies, returned American astronauts to space from American soil for NASA, employed tens of thousands of people, had outlandish vision and dreams for a better future, & paid the largest individual tax bill in American history. All while being an immigrant.

There are a striking amount of similarities between Elon and Donald Trump.

Both had rich father's that gave them loans that helped start their business careers.
Both are shady businessmen that don't pay taxes.
Both constantly make outrageous guarantees that never happen.
Both have sexually harassed women.
Both are friends of Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell.
Both have been sued for racial discrimination.
Both have a cult like following that like to believe every negative story about their idol is "fake news".
