Rose: USC - OSU
Orange: OU - Clemson (for the mythical NC)
Sugar: Georgia - Wisconsin?
Fiesta (I’m an 80s child) Alabama - PSU?
Cotton: Auburn - TCU?

Maybe one of these would have invited UCF (how did BYU get ranked so high their undefeated year? Did they beat a “big boy” or just go undefeated? Same for 1989-1992 (or whenever GT and WVU)

That would have been a fun, busy NYD

Yes, UCF should be in the Cotton against Auburn.

I do prefer all the games on NYD, with “champion” decided that day. Devote one day to watching football and have more free time the other evenings. I get that TV pays more for prime time slots without other bowls at the same time, but what has that extra money given the fans? Better product? Not really, just higher paid coaches.

I agree to an extent, but two days seems better to me. Still relatively short period of time, but no big game overlap where I could watch something the Rose Bowl and miss parts of the Outback/Taxslayer instead of something like the Fiesta/Cotton.
