Just for fun - so here's my hypothetical dream bracket opponents for the Hawks to win a Championship:

Round of 64: Hawks get a #1 seed and play a 16 seed play in game winner - too hard to predict the opponent, but Hawks win game by 20 plus.

Round of 32: Win vs. # 8 seed Arizona
Round of 16: Win vs. # 5 seed Duke
Round of 8: Win vs. # 2 seed Kansas
Final 4: Win vs. # 1 seed Illinois
Championship: Win vs. # 1 seed Gonzaga

Top 10 seeds for the Hawkeye Bracket with their current AP poll ranking:
1. Iowa - 5
2. Kansas - 6
3. Wisconsin - 9
4. Virginia - 22
5. Duke - 21
6. Oregon - 17
7. Louisville - 27
8. Arizona - 31

Amen to that. I was too young for UNLV. But with NW St it reminded me years later when I watched ISU lose to UAB as a 3 seed. At a bar with a buddy who was an ISU fan. His thoughts were exactly mine after our loss. He had zero desire to watch any other games the rest of the tourney with such high hopes and to lose so soon. Told him I know how he felt and bought him a beer or 2 to down his sorrows in.

Don't forget Iowa smoked UNLV the very next year in the NCAA Tournament 104-86 to make the Sweet 16.
