Myles Johnson

Rutgers guy here (duh) and I fully expect Myles to end up at one of Stanford, USC, or UCLA. He is an engineering student from California that takes his academics seriously. Graduated in four years and has an internship with IBM right now. We will miss him for sure.
He's a great kid. Really sorry to see he is leaving Rutgers. I wish the best for him, Stanford would be a dream school.

Throw in Cal as well. Myles has stated in the past he wants to work in Silicon Valley. What better way to go than to go to a prestigious graduate program out there where those firms recruit? I wish him the best.

I’d really like to see what our % was on the front end of 1 and 1’s this year. It couldn’t have been very good

i looked at what Weezy’ and Luka were from the line in 4 of our losses at one point in the season and wasn’t very good. That didn’t include the front ends which I know they missed their fair share of. It’s why bringing in a 38% FT shooter would make me nervous.

Can only hope Liam Robbins decides to bail on Minnesota with his Uncle out as asst coach. He'd have 2 years left. He averaged 11.7 pt and 6.6 boards playing only 24 min/game. At 7' 235 he'd fill the inside nicely as JO matures and Mulvey comes on board next spring.
Is the uncle being retained by new coach

Johnson would be great get. Highly unlikely as he will be on the radar of 20+ programs. He has developed a lot in his time at Rutgers, does a lot in the community and has some lofty post-basketball goals so I hope Fran makes a push. Robbins would be great as well.

Fran is so averse to out of box thinking that it would not surprise me if he does nothing.

Well that really sucks for you guys. You also lost the big guy that we played against at Oregon in the tourney Correct? He would have helped your team this year if he had stuck around.

Ben Johnson is interviewing all the current assistants to determine who, if any, will remain on staff. I read that he and Ed Conroy (Robbins' uncle) did work together for 2 years under Pitino so he may stay on. Robbins might not be an easy target after all.

Myles is a great defender, but incredibly limited on offense, which isn't Fran's usual preference. I think Harrar and Thompson are closer to what Fran might look for.

Seems like a nice kid but he was so bad the last couple mins vs Houston and 38 pct FT's?! Good luck out west young man

I'm not sure if Fran will go the transfer route on a big, but I could be wrong. With Jack's history of injury and Josh being developed, combined with the Luka loss, who knows? Might be a great move, and if Potter, Johnson, or someone like Robbins were interested, it could be something special.

Where is Liam from originally? I think he played at Drake before transferring to Minnesota?

Thanks. I wonder if he and his Dad will follow junior to New Mexico?

It’s his Uncle, not his Dad, that was an assistant with Pitino. I thought I heard his uncle is being considered for the staff for the new MN coach.

He’s getting some bad advice if he goes to NM as he reportedly has NBA aspirations. He’d be better off staying at MN as he ‘d likely sit for a year.

If he’s eligible immediately (unlikely in his case because he just did that) or he’s willing to lose the year, there are much higher level programs (including Iowa which he actually grew up as a fan I thought I read) that would better meet his goals.

Eugene Omuruyi. As the other poster said, last year would have been his senior (last) year if he hadn't transferred.

There's talk that Robbins' Uncle may follow Pitino to New Mexico. If so, Liam may go too.
