I must admit that, with Kansas currently being on the short list for teams being slotted to play in Des Moines Regional, I was thrilled to see ISU beat them last night. Any game result that betters Iowa's chances of receiving a more favorable seed and playing in the Des Moines Regional makes me happy.

I'm not a Niang "fan" (or a "fan" of anyone on ISU) but I truly don't give much thought to whether he - or anyone else - is under consideration for player of the year. If Iowa takes care of business, continues to win games at its current pace and Uthoff continues to put up the kind of numbers that he is posting, Iowa will get a very high seed, will likely play in Des Moines and Uthoff will be very much in the picture for post-season honors.

For the ISU lurkers. Does it annoy you that when Iowa wins, the news is about how "great Iowa is", and when ISU wins, it's about "how great the State of Iowa is?" I'm pretty sure I'd get a little annoyed if I were in that spot.

It was way more fun to watch ISU catch fire last night than it was when it was against Iowa. Really good (and convincing) win vs. KU, and hoping the Hawks can keep winning their way to a first round game in Des Moines.
