Nate Meier

A big shout out to Nate Meier. He had 1.5 or 2 sacks last year, depending on the data source, and 6 TFL. I was hoping for 6 to 8 sacks this year, and I was probably being optimistic. After 3 games, he has 4 sacks and 5 TFL, a huge step up to his game, and sorely needed.

Last year Iowa had 26 sacks in 13 games. This year, 11 in 3 games.

I still find it hard to believe that he ended-up at DE but those TFL and sack numbers don't lie. I think many are waiting to see what he can do against teams like Wisconsin or Minnesota this year. Hopefully, he keeps adding to those numbers.

He has a serious motor and a lot of speed to make up for his size differential. He seems to really take advantage of that as the game winds down. He's had a great year so far.
