Nate Stanley Lost This Game

^fvck everyone saying he sucks. He was bad and likely cost us this game, but what do we have in the wings? No idea. We lost to a better team, period. This year could still be special. Chill the fvck out.

Wrong......we did not lose to a better team.

There is nothing wrong with critiquing the performance of an individual who has been given especial privileges for performing said task. In fact, the use of the term "grow up assholes" is the least mature thing I have seen in this thread, so perhaps you should try looking in the mirror before casting your stones. Pussy
I bet your bf goes in dry tonight.

KF is worse than Dusty Baker when it comes to going to the bullpen . Stanley stunk late against Wisconsin, let Minnesota back into the game with a horrible pick same at Indiana and then today's epic showing. Mansell couldn't have been worse . Mansell should transfer out .

I sure hope he doesn't because I'd like to see him take the field for us.

Yes, he had a horrendous game. Probably the worst of his career...?

But that turnover was on Brian. 3 minutes left, with 1st & goal at the 3 yardline, and you pass the ball!?! Wth?!?

Burn the clock. Two run plays, if no score, you play action.... If 4th and a foot, you spread & run. Touchdown

Brian likely called the run. Nate killed the play for their 2nd option.

Lost to a better team? Did you watch the same game we all did? Iowa should be 8-0....they are better than EVERY team they've played this year and that's a fact. Players choked in crunch time....

Yep. Agreed on all points.

This team overall is really pretty good, which I rarely say about Kirk's boys. Early in the game we could have put them away, and jacked around and predictably pissed it away. Ugly, but not shocking in the least.

I think this is actually one of the best teams KF has had. Wish he would change things up and make better in-game adjustments once in awhile tho, but I guess we as Iowa fans cant have it all. The Football Gods wont allow it....

Stanley is either very good or stinks and its pretty easy to see which showed up on any given Saturday, KF not seeing the same and being stubborn and not benching Him is just as bad as Stanley's play. Iowa would be 8-0 with most any other B1G starting QB . But KF's loyalty to a player has Iowa 6-2 . and GUARANTEED Stanley will cost Iowa at least 1 more game .

I don't know why it's so hard for us to execute great offense to go along with the usual great defense to win games. It's one or the other much of the time.
It is quite possible Nate does not have that it factor. He does seem to get pretty tight when the lights shine brightest and I still do not get the continued horrible decisions. He makes so many inexplicable passes and makes so many inexplicable decisions. I mean usually those diminish with experience but there is just something missing. I said it factor but maybe just a lack of feel for the game or something. This year is just so disappointing as we had no business losing to either Wisconsin or PSU. Both games we should have been up by at least 2 scores with the ball and momentum.
Absolutely right. Something is missing with him. 3rd year in the program, 2nd year starter. He has gone the wrong direction. Mansell needs his chance. Now.

Ark - thanks for agreeing with me. The more I think about it the more I believe it to be true. There is just something missing with Nate. The "it" factor, the ability to feel the game, something is just not clicking. I mean he has the "measurables" and some of his passes are God awful (the Hock miss for a TD was the ballgame yesterday if u ask me may have been a blow out) but it is his decisions hat continually perplex me. I mean he is not a first year starter. I am now most worried about his psyche and team leadership. For anybody that thinks we should not be undefeated based upon talent on the field you are wrong.

Penn State is NOT a better team than Iowa....hawks (mostly Stanley) just had one of worst games of year.

Penn State made 6 major errors in Q1... the had an unforced fumble while driving the ball to seal the win. Iowa recovered 3 of their own fumbles.. if you can't win that one then you are simply not a good team yourself. Even worse, your OL got owned for 3.5 quarters.

For a guy who was making roughly his 20th start in college football, he played like a freshman walk-on. He has got to know how much time is on the play clock. He has got to throw a catchable ball to Hockenson when he's that wide open. He has got to know when he can and when he can't throw it away. He has got to move in the pocket and keep his eyes down field.

He had his worst game as a Hawkeye. It happens. He is still a great quarterback who makes Iowa better. He will get better and learn from it.

Good news is this - he had his worst game and Iowa still almost beat a ranked Penn State team in Happy Valley.

Lastly, let’s not be a-holes.

He has been making some absolutely horrible decisions this year and the majority of the time he looks like it’s his first time passing. Overthrows. Underthrows. Throws behind. No reason a big ten QB should miss open receivers as much as he does and I’m talking about easy ****ing throws. I thought the first couple of games this year he got some stuff out of his system but obviously not. I don’t know how much longer you can stick with him if he continues to play so poorly. Unless Mansell is just that bad as well.

We lost to a better team? Nonsense. If Stanley wasn’t utter horsecrap we would have had a huge early lead and kept rolling. You saying that completely downplays how awesome the special teams and defense was today

The special teams that gave up huge gouging chunks of yards on KO returns? Those “special teams”?

I guess if you think special teams was bad i cant really help you. They did have a bad KO they gave up that was rough but great feild position most kicks, blocked punt. About as much as you can ask for.

yeah, even the ESPN game crew once mentioned he was "missing on middle school type throws." Shocking to hear that critique from them but it was true.

There’s plenty of blame to go around for that loss yesterday. I just don’t like seeing certain student athletes singled out and piled on by the mob. It’s not a good look from our so called fans.

Completely disagree. Outside of some O-line mishaps and false starts, there is absolutely not plenty of blame to go around. Come on, you saw that QB performance..

I saw his postgame interview and he seemed pretty dejected, so I DO feel bad for him and i wouldn't for one second consider attacking him on a personal level. But we're talking about his on-field performance, which of course was very, very NOT big-ten level.

What makes you think Ped St is a better team? With a QB with a pulse, Iowa wins that game by 10+ pts. Hell Iowa still should have won the game despite Stanley.
Hey, jerkoff, can you grow up and get off the Ped State stuff? Your IQ must be close to zero if you're still spewing that kind of stuff. Moron.
