National Duals

Oklahoma State
NC State

Ohio State

Northern Iowa

Iowa

Michigan

Nebraska

Illinois

Minnesota

That’s quite a lineup so far. The B10 is well
represented with 6 teams already committed from the conference. Any rumors of other participants? Arizona St, Missouri, Cornell?

Va Tech Cornell I heard were in. 11 of top 12 will be in. 13-24 places will be randomly drawn on April 24 I believe is the date

Any idea how the seeding will work? By committee(and who's on it if so)?

It’s about time a pundit says something in a negative light about Cael / PSU.

It feels Brands would be raked over the coals if he was in Caels shoes.

The irony is Cael is private, rarely gives access to his program and comes off annoyed to engage with the media. But wow do they protect him and scared to question his program.

Brands is the complete opposite.

Brands feels a bigger responsibility as an ambassador to the sport. He’s a lot like his mentor Gable.

Cael is about… Cael. And what’s good for his program. He’s a great coach but he’s no Bobby Douglas if you know what I mean.

There are few incentives to wrestle early in the year, except the craving to compete. It’s good to see the Hawks competing against the best early.
I wonder if this will affect the CKLV?

Which is silly to go off last years results for next years national duals. Iowa State, love them or hate them has 5 AA returning — more than most preseason top 10 teams. They should be in the tournament (Frost, Frost, Echemendia, Elam and Batista).

Oh well. They had at least 4 in their lineup going into last season and still sucked.

I think the sport is in a good spot and the hunger for growing are things/people needing money

You get what you earn. It didn’t have to end the way it did for Iowa State. Dresser is paying the price for a poorly planned season & not having them ready for Conference & Nationals.

Hand hit forehead with a slap sound then hand dragged down face.......SMH

Will the matches count towards the wrestler's NCAA record that year? Or is this like the All Star Classic where if you lose, it does not count.

Iowa State returns five all Americans next year and has a very solid lineup. It’s foolish for the committee not to let them into the Duals based off last year‘s results. They can easily upset anyone in the top five (minus PSU) and it would make the committee look foolish if they weren’t allowed in

No committee this year. Iowa st won't be in. The random draw for the final 5 spots from 13-24 will happen soon

They returned 4 last year and sucked. Who cares.

If the portal keeps being active like it has been this year even with a committee good teams will be left out and bad teams will be in. You almost gotta wait until school starts too decide the teams and August is to late. Teams make schedules and have travel figured out before August

I don’t care at all because I am an Iowa fan. However, I don’t think the invites should use last year results. They should use projected team rankings for next year in some way or another. For instance, Ohio State should be projected higher than their results from this year based off all their portal moves. Portal closes on May 2 — send the invites after the portal closes

Issue with that is Buchanan, Teemer, Riggins, Cobe and Glazier all transferred after the portal was closed. We all learned that the portal just means you enter and teams can contact you. You can still go wherever you want

We are talking about the bottom feeders. Don't make such a big deal about it.

Meh who cares. It isn’t Iike anyone who’s anything other than a long shot to win is getting left out. And there are pitfalls to projection as well.

ISU crying about being left out or fans trying to make an argument they should have been invited...the committee went 25 deep as potential participants.

In college wrestling, no matter injuries or other factors, there's simply no way in hell that Dresser and the wannabes should be that bad to finish as poorly as they did last season.

It's fvcking embarrassing by any measure.
