You won't often find me linking a WND piece, but this one is fun. Sounds a lot like what TJ8869 was saying on the Trump and Walker thread.

[excerpts]

No one doubts that Jindal was born in the United States, but what is not clear is where the loyalty of his parents lay and whether Jindal is a natural born citizen under the law.

Rubio was born in 1971. His parents were naturalized in 1975.

Ted Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1970. Unlike Rubio and Jindal, he was the child of a citizen, his mother, Elizabeth Wilson Cruz. His father, Rafael, left Cuba in 1957 and ... was naturalized in 2005.

Can a c-section deliveried anchor baby be president? Let's bring the lawyers in.

There is no shortage of the usage of "anchor baby" on the threads today.

My sense of how things should be (not to be confused with my interpretation of current law) is that any child born to one or both parents who are American citizens or in the process of becoming American citizens is a natural born U.S.citizen, regardless of where that child is born. Any child born on American soil to a mother who is here legally is a natural born U.S. citizen. The mother could be here for any legal reason - student visa, work visa, even vacation. She just needs to be here legally.

I have said all along that Barack Obama is a natural born U.S. citizen regardless of whether he was born in Hawaii or in Kenya because his mother was a lifelong U.S. citizen.

Bobby Jindal is a natural born citizen because he was born in Louisiana to parents who were here legally. His mother was here on an academic scholarship to LSU and his father was invited to the United States as part of a government program to recruit skilled professionals from other countries.

Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen even though he was born in Canada because his mother was a U.S. citizen.

John McCain is a natural born citizen even though he was born in Panama because both his parents were U.S. citizens. It's also worth noting that the reason he was born in Panama is that his father was deployed there on active military duty for the United States Navy.

Marco Rubio is the only one I'm not sure about, based on my personal criteria. He was born in Florida to immigrant parents who later became citizens. I don't know enough about his parents to know whether they were in this country legally at the time Marco was born. I don't know if they had already begun the process of becoming citizens. I believe they became citizens about 4 years after he was born, but I don't know at what point they started that process or if they used Marco as a pathway to citizenship.
