The Mavs Lakers game is the one I am looking forward to the most, but I will have to DVR. I will not be able to watch most games as we will be at my parents. And for some reason my very white 70 year old MAGA Fox News watching father does not like NBA.

My favorite thing about the nba/college basketball is that most of the douche wad, snowflake fans have already shown themselves the door. Unlike football

They're not basketball fans, no need to get mad at their stupidity.

I'm not mad. I couldn't care less what they think. It's just ridiculous that every time someone starts an NBA thread there are always a handful of morons who feel inclined to articulate their indifference or disdain for it. It's called beating a dead horse.

Most of them don’t even know why they dislike the NBA, they just know that they are supposed to because politics.

I grew up watching the NBA in the 80's and 90's. That's why I hate todays game.

I would encourage you to go back and watch some 80’s and 90’s regular season NBA games sometime. Today’s product is infinitely better. Nostalgia is one helluva drug, though.

It's definitely a better product than late 90s ball.

The Style of play in the 80s and early-mid 90s was good. Starting with the Bulls second run, the style of play suffered because of the rules changes related to defense. The pace isn't back to where it was in the 1980's, but it's as good as it's been since. And style of play is better than any time since as well.

Well, other than the Rockets of the last few seasons.

Were you alive for that era? If you were, then there's no way you could say with a straight face today's game is "infinitely better." There's a reason why the '92 Dream Team will never be replicated.

It won't be replicated because international basketball is infinitely better now. You could field a Team USA now that's better. Heck, you could have fielded a better Team USA then.

I'm not talking about the margin of victory due to the inferior competition. That team had the greatest collection of talent ever. And you are right they could have been even greater. It's unfathomable Isiah Thomas and Dominique Wilkins were kept off that team. And Shaq should have gone over Laettner.

My point was more that many of the best players now are international. You could accumulate that kind of talent on one team now, but it couldn't all be players from the US. If you include top foreign players, you could replicate it now.
