Do you really think Johnson will have any control or say in anything? He'll have to do whatever trump says or they'll vote him out and put someone else in. He won't be speaker, he'll be trumps puppet and have to kiss ass constantly. He'd be better off losing his position so he can just hide in the background.
Typically the MSM would be loathe to report it, so in this case it actually lends credibility to the report.

It's not a matter of supporting anything, I just happen to believe their reporting on these results finally.
It's seems like they dragged their feet a little in doing so - not surprising - but finally plugged their noses and went ahead.
