NCAA awards, Uthoff?

seems odd that uthoff isnt a top 10 finalist in either the PF or SF awards yet is a finalist for the wooden award. Why? I wouldve thought he proved he atleast be a top 10 canidate for 1 of these positions

Never heard of these awards, but the lists are meaningless at this point. If he keeps/steps up production and the team keeps winning he'll be in the conversation for every award.

Saw somewhere that this list is compiled before the season and now is getting pared down. If you didn't start the season on the list, can't be added. Maybe that's why it's an award no one has ever heard of.

We had no problem against MSU who beat KU. You beat KU and OK by more than you beat us(a whole point at hilton).
I know you can't compare one game to the next, but what have you seen that tells you it "wouldn't happen"?
You guys are 4-4 against top 25, we are 4-3. And if we played you at carver instead of hilton you'd be 3-5 and we'd be 5-2 :fyi:

I will say it has been hilarious hearing Cyclone fans bitching about Iowa's success this year and how it's overshadowing what was suppose to be their year.

Jealous of what? ISU's one point win at Hilton? Both teams had a hand in Iowa losing that game, play it now and Iowa doesn't lose that lead. Other than that Iowa is in better position than ISU so why would Iowa fans be jealous.

Just like you were 1 and 2 at CHA in the last three meetings since Fran came. Not that I recommend it but being behind by 20 or more points to teams in the first half like they did with Iowa in December isn't unusual for the Cyclones. Even ESPN dubbed them "the comeback kids." They have done that to many teams in the last four years with these players. This year it is a lot more difficult though since they lost Naz.

You are wrong that players can't be added. Uthoff wasn't on the pre-season Wooden award watch list but was added when they pared down and/or added players at mid-season. Same for the Karl Malone award for the best power forward. They started out with 20 players but only retained 8 and added two new names to the mid-season list posted this week. Apparently it's new this year but I read players can be added through and including the first round of the NCAA tournament. Apparently they finalized the list at the end of the regular season in the past.
