NCAA considering allowing 5 years of eligibility for players in all sports

I like this idea. I have thought this should be for the fairness of the student athletes that followed behind the extra Covid players. Also I believe that placing additional restrictions on transfers should be imposed. Another thing I think they should do is limit undergraduate scholarships to 12 and allow up to 3 additional scholarships be for graduate students (of which presumably there will be more).
This could have an interesting impact on the seniors and for the team next season. This is certainly an interesting development and I am now curious to see just what does transpire.

Hell, make it 6 no exceptions. I Think I saw someone had 8 years recently and several with 7

I like the 4 year turnover. That's always been part of tha appeal for college sports. It's just more degradation of the product that became popular.

Might as well pay them straight up and have their employment and salary on contract. And no real reason to have anything tied to academics at this point.

I'm just hanging by a thread to college football, and it was easily my favorite sports entertainment for 40 years. Never thought I'd be so indifferent to the game.

This X 1 million. Indifference is the right word. I’m not against it, I’m not even nostalgic per se. Things change, I get it. But the changes haven’t improved the game. I don’t even have a problem with a 12 team playoff, but I think we have clearly seen, it was completely unnecessary and we are likely still going to end up with the same blue bloods winning it 🤷‍♂️

I’ve said all year Ohio State was the best team and with two losses they wouldn’t have made it for sure but they are still a blue blood, they still have way more talent than everybody and they still blow out other teams when they are playing their best.

Nobody deserved in over IU, SMU, Boise, etc. but the reality is. Those teams just aren’t nearly as good as tOSU or ND or even PSU🤷‍♂️

Keegan, who entered the NBA 3 years after graduating from high school, and Kris, who entered the NBA 4 years after graduating? Those guys needed more than 4 years to develop?
Oops I thought it was 4 and 5 years. my bad. People still develop at different rates so I don't see a need to cap eligibility post high school graduation. There are Mormons who go on missions before/ during college for example.
