Tennessee's coach just got fired after one season because NCAA is investigating Donnie Tyndall for his last stop at So. MS and will likely punish him/TN for it so he's hot potatoe. Yet, UNC and Syracuse's punishment takes tortoise pace outcome.

TN is looking for a rebuilder, sounds familiar? I wonder if Fran is in consideration (I'm not saying he should or would want to go there but his reputation for rebuilding is impressive) for kicks....

Who do you guys think TN should hire next?

It is amazing how UNC's academic (or lack of it) scandal has rendered nothing so far. NCAA bluster about "student athlete" this and that, while this AA Studies program was nothing, but a huge system-wide sham. The football and hoops program should reveive major penalties, but doubt they will get more than a slap on the wrist.

Could somebody who knows give us the cliff notes version of what dastardly deeds this Tenn coach did? Meanwhile good old boy coach Cal still walks on water.

The fans want Bruce Pearl back and I've heard there is a movement afoot to raise enough money to buy out his contract at Auburn. Doubt that the school administration is going to accept this, but who knows?

Can't blame the NCAA I guess.

They know who is generating the $ is all, which means their own jobs.

They will never touch those programs.

An article from two years ago. Much to think about:

About the man who once said, "The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky they're going to give Cleveland State another year of probation."

It used to be inside College Basketball was a little distasteful corruption. Today it is Sports Entertainment and the corruption is the norm. It's all about the $$$$. It's all about the power.

Tarkanian was a crook...but just outside the confines that would have made him an NCAA darling.

Donnie Tyndall was my HS freshman basketball coach in 1994. Young, 24 old guy with no coaching experience at all. Had 6am practices as Tyndall was just finishing up his night shift as a volunteer coach at Iowa Central CC. Even as a 14 yr old kid, I could tell this guy was a jerk. Thought he was a decent coach with some good defensive schemes, but he was just an a$$. Don't let the fact that I was a 14yr old who rode the pine, dissuade you.
