I have enjoyed watching this team play. Five game skid was tough. They showed a lot of heart today and unfortunately to a L. I personally think the have to win two of next three and that will be tough and win at least two in the BIG tournament to make the Dance. Thoughts?

They're solidly in the tournament at this point, unless as noted, they have a massive collapse after the loss today.

The Michigan game will be key for either getting back on track heading into the postseason, or building on momentum off a potential monster upset over UCLA.

We'll beat Wisconsin at the end of the season, and then it'll depend on our matchup in the BTT.

I have no idea how the format looks this year, but right now I believe we're the 10 seed.

Well look at it like this, if they limp to the finish line, does it matter? I love this team & women’s basketball, but I did take a break in that losing stretch. I want to see them play well. I watched all the Fever games because honestly. CC does so much crazy shit, win or lose, she’s must watch TV. I’ll likely be more vested in the “teams” wins & losses this year. But I don’t want to be “that guy” that takes sports so personally anymore, so I pull back when they struggle.

In Saying that; this is a good team & I still expect them to be ready for UCLA at home. If they lose, it won’t crush me, but if they can’t beat Michigan and then Wiscy & win a BIG game, it will quell my enthusiasm. They’ll make the tourney most likely, but I want them to be competitive.

I won’t be mad as hell, I won’t think the coaches F-ed up, but it will be a disappointment. I expected them to win today. I really did. But again I don’t get the vitriol when they don’t. I guess that just me.

Point being, let’s hang in there and see where it goes 😂

We were playing the number 8 team in the country on their home court and were an underdog. It’s one thing to hope for a win but not sure why you would be expecting a win?

If Betts doesn’t play against us and we have a raucous sell out crowd against UCLA they are definitely beatable. Really struggled against the Michigan State pressure last night at home. Not saying we will win but again, if Betts is still out I like our chances better than the USC game at the time. All bets are off if she plays. Beat UCLA and Wiscy and lose to Michigan and win 2 in the Big Ten tournament we’re minimum 8. How many teams would have 2 top 5 wins?

I expected a win, too. This team has the talent and Lucy has been on fire. They almost won. It's ok they didn't, but what's wrong high expectations?

Yes, sometimes (on the football board in particular) folks like us get called Pollyanna's or homers, or not competitive. But I’m actually highly competitive ( honed it back as I aged) and I honestly think I hate the losing more than I like the winning. But yelling and screaming and blaming everyone who ACTUALLY played and coached is pretty asinine to me.

If I get too frustrated, I peel things back. I, like you probably, have a very healthy respect for how hard it is to win. I mean honestly South Carolina got beat by 30 at home.

That’s a once in 100 outcome. You play 100 time and USC wins at least 60 and never loses like that. Every game is a different battle.

We are as good as tOSU, we just didn’t win.

Beat Wisconsin and they are a lock. UCLA and Michigan are for seeding. If they don't finish top 9 in Big Ten, Washington is toughest possible first round opponent. Win there and everyone after UCLA and USC is toss up game in second round.

If every game from on here on goes to chalk (huge if), then projections are Iowa is the #10 seed facing #15 seed Penn State in the first round on Wednesday. Then #7 seed Michigan State on Thursday. #2 seed USC on Friday. I would take that.

The above assumes Iowa beats Wisconsin and loses to UCLA and Michigan. (Plus, the favorites win in every other remaining Big Ten game for our purposes here.) However, even if Iowa sweeps, the best they can probably do is #9 seed. Those early losses to other teams in the middle really killed our chances on tie-breakers.

Kinda contradicting statements no? Admitting you yourself didn't hang in there when things went south early on.

One more win and they’re in comfortably. They won’t get punished for losses to UCLA or Michigan. A loss to Wisconsin would make things uneasy. OP is way off.

Meh….i dint skip entirely, I just didn’t get the popcorn & drinks ready an hour before game time 🤪 & I cane & went from the room doing stuff. Ordinarily I pause it to go to the bathroom. And most importantly I stayed off the message board

But more to the point, I didn’t call out coaches, piss & Moan about who played and how they should have to run stairs or sit on the bench. You’d think that would be a “no-brainer” to “hanging in there” but it doesn’t appear to be?
