Nebraska was also a decade removed from winning multiple National Titles when those games happened. It’s funny that you think it has to be one or the other. I guess Iowa fans would rather play it safe....get the 8 wins and the third place west finish. It will be interesting when gramps retires. He's won more than 7.5 games more than half the time and hasn't won fewer than 8 games in 5 years now. Recruting on an upswing for 4 years straight now, good depth all over the field, energetic young staff, we're in every ball game (when's the last time we got outclassed like Nebraska does several times a season?), our players don't peddle kiddie porn or get busted with weed every week like in Lincoln. There are about 100 FBS programs who'd take what we bitch about in a heartbeat.
Think something like this will EVER happen to Kirk Ferentz?
Here's a list of the teams that have been so “unfortunate” to win at least 7.5 games each season since 2015:
Alabama
Appalachian State
Boise State
Clemson
Georgia
Iowa
LSU
Memphis
Michigan
Ohio
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Stanford
Washington State
Wisconsin
A lot of the usual suspects that Iowa fans wish the Hawkeyes could be missing from this list. (Who else thinks it’s hilarious that Frank Solich’s Bobcats is on it?)

Kirk is 3 seasons removed from going undefeated in the regular season. Congrats...that’s done well enough to get one division title in 8 years. I guess Nebraska/Iowa St is your super bowl? No, we would rather win the last four games against the cornholers, and the clowns, and the goofers. Five in a year across the board in 2019.
That was your mistake...thinking...I don’t think Frost is leaving any time soon. Unless you are thinking he’s going to the NFL.
0 - 4.Congrats...that’s done well enough to get one division title in 8 years. I guess Nebraska/Iowa St is your super bowl?

Keep digging, going to be pretty embarrassing when this season falls apart again for the U of N(othing)...
And you bring in the Wizard to go 4 - 8 and lose to Troy at home. And that got him what trophy again?
I’m not sure what Nebraska’s season falling apart has to do with Ferentz mediocrity. I give him credit, the guy is simply a wizard. He just has to win 8 games and has now set up his undeserving son to handle the family business.
That’s 3 more wins than Ferentz had his first season at Iowa. And we all know Kirk is God’s gift to earth when it comes to football. And you bring in the Wizard to go 4 - 8 and lose to Troy at home.
Congrats!

He built the program from the ground up. Let's see where Scotty is in 3 years. That’s 3 more wins than Ferentz had his first season at Iowa. And we all know Kirk is God’s gift to earth when it comes to football.
Says the guy who says Iowa only wins 7.5 games a year under KF and neglects the 5 10 win Top 10 seasons, the multiple conference and national coach of the year awards, and national award winners.
No Iowa fan “would rather play it safe.” There’s no reason we can’t win the Big Ten or challenge for a spot in the CFP this year. Kirk Has proven multiple times he can do it.
We could do something idiotic and take a gamble on a Lane Kiffin or a Hugh Freese or Bobby Diaco. Some other flavor of the month coach dujour. We’ve got a proven winner right here in IC already, though.
Iowa fans.

Pretty simple, he has averaged 7.5 wins a year at Iowa. I guess that’s a proven winner to you but if Frost is Nebraska’s coach for 8 years and wins one West title I will be disappointed. But I also get that Iowa fans feel that 8 wins and an occasional good year is the best the program can do. I disagree.
In 20 seasons it’s the best Nebraska could do by far. You’re delusional to expect the 90’s to happen again. They won’t. Keep hiring and firing coaches, though. It’s freaking hilarious.
My dislike of Frost is how he comes across as an arrogant know-it-all.You sound like you must know Scott Frost, based on how it sounds like you are judging his character.
Before you cite the one, sorry, old line people over here like to cite, check the police report before you talk about hiding in closets. Anyone who likes to mention that is a troll, because they refuse the facts and rather spout their hate for someone based on something they wish were true.
Nobody is expecting the 90’s again. That was an absolute dominant run. It wouldn’t have even happened had Osborne kept coaching.
But, I do believe Nebraska can expect better than winning a division title once every decade.

But, I do believe Nebraska can expect better than winning a division title once every decade. Despite not meeting expectations for some time, I’m glad the program still has high expectations. That’s better than setting the bar at 8 wins a year and 2-3rd place division finish.
Glad to see your concern about the Iowa offense (which will be fine). However, you should be more concerned about nebby’s defense.I already answered this post. If you want to go by points scored, Brian Ferentz has been weak in that department as well. Had the Iowa offense been just average they may have won the West once or twice since Ferentz was gifted the OC job.
You have a long, long way to go to get to those lofty expectations.
Maybe if you offer another 500 potential criminals.

He’s won multiple conference championships, numerous coach of the year awards, has 5 Top 10 finishes and has coached numerous national award winners.
That’s a proven winner.
You’re a miserable dingleberry who can’t really remember seeing his team be dominant in person, if you’re even old enough to have been alive in the nineties, which I seriously doubt.
When was the last time that NE won a Big 10 championship?Quit living in the past. Isn’t that what Iowa fans say? The early 2000’s Kirk is not the Kirk of present day. The Kirk of present day is lucky to win the division. “Conference championships”...Iowa was not the best team in the Big Ten either of those years. In fact...Iowa has not won an outright Big Ten Title since the mid 80’s.
Oh and BTW, I was old enough to enjoy Nebraska’s title runs. And it was glorious.
When was the last time that NE won a Big 10 championship?
Going off old Big Ten rules? It would have been 2012.

Rest assured this post will hit the 5 page mark soon.
Kearney or Chadron when this clusterphuck is over...I don’t think Frost is leaving any time soon. Unless you are thinking he’s going to the NFL.
Blue Blood programs have a vast home territory from which to recruit from.Nebraska....Blue Blood program?..No don’t think so.....
I was wrong. Thread on its way to 25 pages. I said 5 when it launched. How do some of you exude so much energy on the anti Husker mindset. Why? Just not worth it.
No way Frost can make Husker fans happy and live up to their expectations but I don’t see him leaving any time soon either. He walks on water in Nebraska and the fans are more likely to learn to live with the up and down seasons on the horizon with him as coach. Plus the Nebraska job is in jeopardy of being a coaching graveyard.I don’t think Frost is leaving any time soon. Unless you are thinking he’s going to the NFL.
You can’t tell me Nebraska’s going to fire Frost if he averages 8 wins a season. You’re lying to yourself if you think they will.Exactly how I feel when Iowa fans boast about Ferentz Big Ten “titles” when everybody knows you weren’t beating Ohio St and Michigan best you head to head.
I mean, we are nearing 35 years since Iowa’s last outright Big Ten Title. Crazy. But hey, as long as Kirk gets 8 wins.
