Nebraska the pity me program

This is not true. The B1G has one protected crossover with Indiana/Purdue.

true but how the big 12 did it with 2 on and off every 2 years having a protected cross over wouldn’t have worked with how they did their schedule.

Big 10 works because we have one East team in psu then Rutgers for 6 years we play every year and rotate the other 6 to play every 3 years. This allows Purdue/Indiana every year and even our Purdue “rivalry” game under the legends and leaders where they actually had true rivalry games protected who weren’t in the same division. So for big 12 to have done this OU/Nebraska game every year they’d have to copy the current or former big 10 scheduling models which they didn’t. Most likely because minus this game there really was no rivalry games between north and south schools which would be missing every year.

Now how about just the regular season? 2010 they only played Ok in the B12CG. In 2009 they only played Tx in the B12CG. 2006 Ok only in championship game. See a pattern? What years did Neb play both Ok and Tx in regular season?

And IoWWWWWa has played Penn State 8 times and UNLLLLL has played them twice. Such a profound difference!

I can't imagine any other team in the Big Ten cries about their schedule more than UNLLLLL. Certainly not any of the old Big Ten teams as our schedules got easier with the addition of Rutgers, Maryland and UNLLLLL.

because they are protected cross over opponents for 6 years. Just like Iowa and psu. Is it that hard to comprehend how it works?

but look on the bright side anyone can go to a bowl game this year no matter the record. So looks like frosty is In luck for year 3.

Nebraska will have played PSU 5 times by 2021. Penn St was Nebraska’s crossover in Leaders/Legends.

Well duh, they still played them the same amount of times as Iowa played OSU. they rotated 3 Big 12 South opponents every 2 years. Texas, Ok St, and A&M for 2 years the OU, Baylor, and Tech for 2 years.

I don’t care about the schedule this year, just saying the narrative about the Big 12 are incorrect. With the 6 year rotation, Nebraska probably lucked out by having OSU first for 6 years. Nebraska already sucked, so we might as well get the OSU games out of the way. When Frost brings Nebraska back and OSU has a 6 game series with Wisky, it can be advantageous for Nebraska (and Iowa) in the division race.

So, to be clear, half the time Texas played both Neb and Ok, and Ok played both Tex and Neb in the regular season, while Neb *never* had to play more than one.

That's why you fans are just as soft and whiny as your team and AD. It is just inconceivable to you pussies after decades of what were essentially single-game reg. seasons, that you actually now to have to play a schedule with 2+ tough teams like the rest of P5 teams have always done. "Fairness" indeed.

At the end of the day, Nebraska played OU and Texas the same amount of time as Ohio St and Iowa have played. So I'm not sure what your point is.

This is all revisionist history. Nebraska wanted to play OU every year. Oklahoma were the ones that nixed that idea when Nebraska was at the top. At the start of the BIg 12 the North was the stronger side as well. OU and Texas were pretty mediocre compared to what they became in the 2000s. Nebraska's dropoff was 7 years away in 2002.

I figured this had to be wrong, so I looked it up.

This is true.

Nebraska NEVER had Oklahoma and Texas on their schedule in the same season during the entire duration in Big 12. Not a single time.

Wow.

No wonder they're crying in 2020 that they have to play a couple blue bloods. 80 years of kicking the shit out of Iowa State and Kansas and Kansas State is all they know.

I think it's funny how the people in Nebraska are still saying things like "When Frost brings Nebraska back".... as if that's even close to a given. They'll be lucky to escape the basement this year. His record is worse than Riley's. Maybe temper your expectations a bit. Until Nebraska starts beating the Iowas, Northwesterns and Wisconsins of the world they aren't going to sniff the success of Ohio State.

Lol, wait, do you still think Scott Flop will be anything more than a flop?!

Flop may win 12 games at some point. But probably not until early in his 5th season or so.

Remember before the Big Ten expanded and Iowa played OSU, Michigan, and PSU every year? I 'member.

In 1993 and 1994, Iowa didn’t play OSU.
In 1995 and 1996, Iowa didn’t play Michigan.
In 1997 and 1998, Iowa didn’t play Penn State.
In 1999 and 2000, Iowa didn’t play Michigan.
In 2001 and 2002, Iowa didn’t play OSU.
In 2005 and 2006, Iowa didn’t play Penn State.
In 2007 and 2008, Iowa didn’t play OSU or Michigan.
In 2011 and 2012, Iowa didn’t play OSU.
In 2013, Iowa didn’t play Penn State.
In 2014 and 2015, Iowa missed all 3.

2003, 2004, 2009, and 2010 are the only years since PSU joined the conference that Iowa played all three. Not really playing them “every year,” is it? You don’t ‘member so well.
