I couldn't be more disgusted with current ticket office situation. If you're not a big money booster, you're nothing to them.
Doesn't matter that I'm a poor person that is shelling out tens of thousands of dollars to U of I for an education for my son (the second one that's gone there).
Doesn't matter that I've bought season wrestling tickets for 36 years, most years 9-11 of them. Doesn't matter that I've brought groups of over 20 to meets 8-10 years in a row.
Doesn't matter that I've purchased my NCAA tickets through them almost all of the 31 years I've gone to it.
All that matters is I can't afford to give a big donation every year, so I can only buy two tickets to the NCAAs this year. I guess I'll be making the rounds on the phone for the next two months trying to get more tickets from other schools like I did when it was in Des Moines. I'm not looking forward to that.
I guess it's a good thing some of my family decided not to go this year so I'm only hunting for three more, not eight.
This really sucks!!! I guess I'd better shut up and start looking up websites and making phone calls. I should have kept all the numbers I dug up in 2013.

Just call up the Michigan State ticket office and buy a couple seats. They'll probably fly you in to East Lansing to introduce you at halftime of a basketball game and give you your tickets.

Realistically, how would you like to see this handled? Iowa only gets a certain allotment, and a lot of season ticket holders can't buy NCAA tickets through the University at all.

Why don't you ask people on this board? I'm not going to the NCAAs but could have bought tickets through the University.

In the past, they have gotten tickets from other schools that didn't sell all theirs. Particularly Missouri when in St. Louis. I realize Missouri's following has increased in recent years, but as mentioned above, schools like MSU never fill their allotment. The problem is if the school doesn't do the legwork, you go through waiting to see if a school does sell their allotment, then hope you can get what they have left before someone else does, which is hit and miss at best because most don't have waiting lists. I was not aware that anyone (except maybe a few new season ticket holders ever got turned down at Iowa. I realize our allotment got cut but in previous years the school made an effort to fill orders from other school's and I know that many schools won't fill theirs. It's just a lot of work and luck to find the right school at the right time, and then you're sitting among a bunch of people who most likely hate Iowa, which makes my most relaxing vacation of the year less fun and more stressful. The stress is bad enough when Iowa isn't winning.
I finally got tickets for all my family in Des Moines after 60-80 phone calls over two months. When I finally got them, I was able to help out a few other Hawk fans that had been searching, but I don't want to go through all that again. Loyalty means nothing to U of I, and that is aggravating
I'm pretty sure Iowa's ticket allotment is still one of the biggest, even though we didn't get a trophy last year. If Iowa fans quit coming they'll never sell out again.
I'll quit rambling again, I don't know what I'm trying to say anyway. Just venting frustration. If you knew what lengths I go to to be able to make the NCAA trip every year you might understand better.

There are still three days left to order. If you would order three in the $200 level for me, I would hand deliver cash for the tickets and order fee anywhere in eastern Iowa.
I would love to be able to be in an Iowa section and not be stressing over this.

This offer goes for anyone who can get them and would be willing to.

This. I ordered two but I cannot go. The tickets are going to a friend for his bunch. I even asked for seats to be with their group.

I have two all sessions in the upper decks in St Louis.
I also got lower bowl tix for the Friday and Saturday sessions.
So, Basically I'd be only using the all session upper tix for the Thursday session, and I think the Friday morning.
Any Hawk fan is welcome to the upper deck all session tickets after I use them.
So, they'd be good for the last three sessions of the tourney (Friday Night, all day Saturday)

Just an honest question...how do you know where your tickets are? I've been getting tickets for years for NCAA's and never find out my seat assignment until tickets are delivered shortly before the tournament.

What should one expect to pay if scalping decent tickets for all sessions on Thursday morning?

My former Section B neighbor (for twenty-some years, before the reseat) came through for me. Good luck to the rest of you. If it wasn't for my 91-year-old mother, I wouldn't be concerned with scalping some, but she won't go without tickets in hand. Thanks to my friend we can all sit in two groups and probably all good seats.
