Curious about P4P and Hawk and PSU fans opinions on their own guys.

Hawks - do you think Clark(completely agree with no injury) and Sorenson should be listed above Kemmerer(not listed)?

PSU - Do you think Retherford should be listed above Nolf and Bo?

I know, it's rankings so who cares. Just curious on your opinion.

I think it would tough not to have Bo at #1 He has killed everyone and 184 is tough. Nolf might should be # 2. KemDawg should be above Clark and BS. Snyder should be below some of the others that have wrestled more.JMHO.

Looks like it's weighted towards guys who've been there and have been successful already.

Nobody should be ranked above Dean until he loses. He has earned it. And has looked damn good this year.

Zain should drop a few slots on P4P. He's been pushed to the brink twice.

Nolf should be in the Top 2. No one is going to come close to hanging with him this year.

I'm surprised Pyles doesn't have Gulibon in there. That said, I couldn't care less how Pyles ranks things. I still find it funny that people had OSU over PSU in rankings. You know who else thought it was funny before they faced off? John Smith made a joke about it. It is nice to be ranked but that is as far as it goes. Still can get a bad draw at NCAA's as #1 seed. My favorite guys are the ones that welcome the hard path.

You'd have an argument for Nickal if he actually wrestled and beat Gabe Dean, which he's done neither so...................

Ranking someone over the 2x Defending Champion at the weight who is still undefeated and hammering people in his own right would be a bit of a stretch.

1. Snyder
2. Imar
3. Nolf
4. Dean
5. Zain
6. Tomasello
7. Nickal
8. Cox
9. Gilman
10. Medberry

That is how it should look in my opinion. Clark and Bo Jordan if they were healthy would be in there somewhere. Valencia and Massa have an argument. Heil is the next best, but he doesn't crack my top 10. I could see several different arraignments of the top 10 that would all be justifiable, pfp rankings are tough.

I wish Cox wrestle with more aggression or sense of urgency.

He's lost twice to Synder, both times by 1 pt. Once in Folk at D1s and 2 months later US Freestyle National wrestling up at 97kgs.

Jaybird, how do you rank Cox #2 if you then say he doesn't wrestle with aggression and a sense of urgency? To be near the top of the pfp rankings, don't you pretty much need to be an animal every time out?

While I tend to agree with ranking guys that are purely dominate in every fashion at the top. I would guess it is all on how you look at it, since pound for pound is more subjective then any other ranking. A wrestler who has close matches, but is less likely to lose.... Cox is the number one ranked freestyle wrestler in the USA. I get it folkstyle is different, however, kid didn't even know all the rules of freestyle and was just winning.

Easy. If he wrestle more aggressively I would have him #1 instead of #2. As Czech alluded I look at complete body of work for P4P. Now if we are discussing Hodge that entirely different for me

So your list is essentially a ranking of those guys most likely to win nationals? Snyder most likely? Cox next most likely? etc, etc?

Who is Kemmerer's best wins in his career? He doesn't have any wins over top guys that would warrant a P4P ranking. Gilman and Clark have beaten far better opponents which is why they're in the P4P.
He beat the #3 guy twice, #6, #9 major, and #10. So what do you mean?

Just can't see how the top 2 freestyle wrestlers in USA that happen to be returning nationals champions and still college not be 1 and 2 in p4p

If Synder is ranked #1, by default I think Cox has to be #2 for all the same reasons as Synder minus the color of medals.

I think Snyder is ranked #1 not because of his Gold medals, but because of the way he absolutely destroys everyone he steps on the mat with in the NCAA. Cox does not show anywhere near that kind of domination, and was even taken down multiple times by Kollin Moore who is not even the #2 guy at that weight.

While he is ultra talented, Cox just is not consistent enough in my opinion to be ranked that high on a P4P list.

Good points, I generally agree w your thought process for ranking p4p. Although, Cox isn't like most top end wrestlers.

Cox reminds me of Dake a lot. Wrestled some mediocre matches during a season, but turns it on when needed against quality opponents.

Cox wins on the collegiate and world levels are more impressive to me then dominating just college.

Speaking of Dake, most p4p's had DT ahead of Dake for years.
