Unfortunately I don't think it's that.
I think his low initial approval rating has to do with the fact that he was president before and had a low approval rating before when he left office.
The 2024 election was between a president with a low approval rating and a VP with a low approval rating.
It's not like people are going to look at Donald Trump coming into office like he's a new guy and let's just see what he does and give him a chance. People knew what they were getting when he came in.
Honestly all of this should be an advertisement for ranked choice voting and proportional representation.
Agree and disagree. They had low expectations, but also amnesia. I genuinely don't think they anticipated him to be this shitty, because the swing voters who voted for him are low information voters and not really plugged in.
