It is great to be an Iowa Wrestling fan.

Go Hawks!

Besides his obvious high quality wrestling background he seems to be a high quality person who carries himself well and is going to be an amazing Cornerstone for our future Hawkeye teams... I mean who wouldn't want to be under the tutelage of Spencer Lee ?? Best of luck to this outstanding young man and future Champion.

Spencer Lee is the man. It’s hard to be the guy after the man. And not many even want to try. The fact he’s here speaks volumes.
So does bumping up to wrestle another elite recruit from the Hawkeye state (Ryder Block, who has a pretty good hit list himself with both Ayala and Jesuroga being on it). After losing the regular season match with Ryder, he bumps up for the state tourney to get his revenge!! That is some cold stuff!!! LOL. He beats Block in the finals and it was never close. He probably kept Block from becoming a 4 timer.

Ayala is an assassin. He is not and will not be Spencer Lee but he will be a crowd favorite and create his own legacy in a long line of great light weights at U of I!

Really looking forward to Drake hitting the mat running!
I have been watching all of his top matches for the last 2 years now, he is very aggressive and lots of high end attacks that will improve over this next year.
I also believe we have a contender out of the gate after his RS year!

I agree, should be fun to see him after a year in the room. I think he is a high AA right away!

Having the oppurtunity to RS and work with Lee, Desanto and Ironman should put him in position to contend right out of the gate next year. Cant wait to see him in tournaments this year. To be sure, he is very talented and will help Lee, Desanto and Ironman also get better.

He's in a good spot, and better be in a good frame of mind, because he's going to get his ass handed to him for the next year in the Iowa room (like most do). If he can survive that he should be in great shape in 2022/2023.

He’s legit guys! Won’t be as dominant as Spencer but he could win 2 or 3 before he is done.
I think that’s accurate. Drake is gonna be a stud, and he’s not the only one we’ve had come in the last two years. Drake, Cullen, Wyatt, Caleb, and PK all so young and so damn good. The future is damn bright and I’m excited for it. I’m obviously going to miss watching our outgoing seniors, but having these studs in the room will soften the blow come 2022.

Can’t imagine being a lightweight rolling around, getting abused, by Lee and Desanto everyday lol.
The good thing about Drake is he was never the best kid. He took his lumps growing up so he understands the process and will be mentally tough enough to handle it. Drake is a unbelievable talent but even a better person. Iowa is lucky to have him
