Schriever is a big time stud but why would he be ranked at 106? Dnp at super 32 and won a Fargo title at 88. I think we'll see him highly ranked next year at 106.

I think I saw Nelson rated on Flo's updated rankings. Don't remember where maybe 16 or 17.

Around 15 lbs to light for the elites this year. Absolutely he will be ranked next year. I'm excited to see what weight he is at in Fargo. Hopefully up at least 2 classes preferably 3 this summer vs 88.

Edit: just checked his weight at Charles City freco tournament.....114.5lbs this past weekend. He's adding weight nicely

I get that. But ranking throughout the history of times rank kids who really could be a weight lower but are up a weight trying to get a better challenge for D1. Whats the difference between ranking a lighter Cullan at 106 versus say when Miklus was ranked at 220 in HS without cutting? Both are giving up like 10 pounds or so. Or a Gilman or Clark in HS wrestling up a class just because?

As for Nelson, to rank him closer to 20th than 1st? If O'Conner is #1 and Nelson losses by 2 points. IMO a #1 should be at least major to tech better than say a 17. It seems closer loss to the #1 guy wasn't a positive in weighing Nelsons ranking? Are other top 20 guys 2-3 point behind O Conner too?

I think it has more to do with the lack of nationally ranked opponents Nelson has wrestled/beaten. Rankings usually don't give you credit for a close loss.

I believe Teske just had a good national win recently but names the elite guys who say Reeves or Biscoglia etc have beaten? Is it more impressive than someone Brands may have beaten at say the Dvorak?

152 is the most loaded weight class in the country. The guys ranked around #10 are better than some of the guys ranked in the top 4 in other weight classes

Biscoglia beat Bennett at state(I think he was ranked). Reeves beat Teske at the state freestyle tournament last year. Then Teske had the better fargo and place second. I don't think there was really much of an opportunity for Nelson to beat any ranked kids this year besides Occonnor.

Reeves also a numerous time Fargo aa and pre season nationals runner up.

Bennett wrestled 120 last weekend and it was plus 3 so i doubt 113 is still in the cards for him.
