The pedestrians will not stand a chance.Imagine the carnage that will ensue when we introduce bison to a bridge!!!!!

Can’t read the link. Idk what the deal is with OPs threads but they’re always blank. Maybe he’s got malware or something on his links and big brother apple is protecting me.Sounds less like the bridge injuring people and more like what I assume is a drunk driver driving down the bike path and running people over.
Seems like they might need to install some posts to stop that from happening again.

Anyway, the bikers/pedestrians are not without fault here, they should have moved out of the way.
Man the Quad Cities is a shithole.
What about the ladies of Dooks? I’ve heard excellent things.I have lived here long enough to know this is true.

Damn. If they were there you could have asked for an alternative form of payment. I’ve seen it in movies online, works every time.I have only been there once and it was so try to assist them with a computer issue years ago. Not a damn single naked lady there, but you could smell them plus the truckers from the night before.

Something somewhat similar happened at the Pella Walmart a few years back. The plaintiffs argued there should have been appropriate bollards at the store entrance. Next time you walk in a Walmart, or something similar, they are there for a reason.Sounds less like the bridge injuring people and more like what I assume is a drunk driver driving down the bike path and running people over.

Probably safe to assume the walkers were also drunk.Link below without a paywall. Assuming a drunk driver given the time of night.
I would think some pillars would be in place to stop vehicle traffic, but I'm sure some will be installed now.

The Quad Cities, come for the pizza, never leave cuz murder bridge 😂
Correct!! I opened this thread expecting to see a herd of buffaloes rampaging the QC streets. 😀Imagine the carnage that will ensue when we introduce bison to a bridge!!!!!
It’s all plausible.Probably safe to assume the walkers were also drunk.
Yeah they'll put up pillars now and then in the not too distant future a drunk bicyclist will hit one of the pillars around 2 am or so and sue the hell out of everybody in sight.
To be fair.......The Iowa DOT did not want to open the pedestrian portion of the bridge until all the construction and demolition of the old bridge were complete. A couple of the cities threw a fit so the DOT relented and agreed to open the pedestrian walkway.Iowa gonna Iowa.
Iowa gonna Iowa.
Fair pointWho the hell is walking on a bridge across the Mississippi River at 2 AM? That is a long freaking walk.
There are only so many times you can prevent morons from doing something horrible before the morons overwhelm the system. To be fair.......The Iowa DOT did not want to open the pedestrian portion of the bridge until all the construction and demolition of the old bridge were complete. I'd agree that they should probably put barrier posts or something but then again drunks are gonna be drunks.
Would you rather have someone drive drunk across the bridge, or have someone walk on the sidewalk of the bridge with a buzz? What if they were out drinking in Bettendorf and walked home? I'd say they were being responsible. We saw what happened when someone decided to drive drunk...Who the hell is walking on a bridge across the Mississippi River at 2 AM? That is a long freaking walk.

Are people really blaming the people walking on a sidewalk for this accident? There's a cement wall that separates the bridge from the pedestrian walkway. It's not like they were walking where vehicles drive.Uber,Lyft,cab.
