New study suggests that there have been ~65000 rape caused pregnancies in states where abortion is prohibited

This! The problem this highlights has nothing to do with abortion, party, the supreme court, etc...

65,000 rapes (and that's only a handful of states) should be the #1 issue everywhere.
It's worse than that, that's the estimated rapes that resulted in pregnancy, not the estimated number of rapes.
And if you try to get an abortion out of state you may be charged with murder.

But imagine someone going through that horrific event, then being forced to carry the rapist's child for 9 months, then give birth, then raise your rapist's child. This has everything to do with abortion.

Well technically they don’t have to keep and raise the rapist’s child but none the less it is pretty ridiculous.

Did you even read the article?
Yes, and if you did your big take-away was that? Not:

  • 520,000 rapes
  • Survivors of rape who become pregnant as a result, who don't want to disclose that fact
  • Samantha Hansen's horrible story
  • etc. etc. etc.
Your big take-away was the numbers may be off due to how they had to pull and calculate the data. Like other's have mentioned on here, I wish we could fix the rape problem rather than it's result, but here we are.

Case in point. You are stupid. Stop being stupid.

There is zero chance their calculations are accurate. They are writing a shock piece with an agenda and you swallow it whole.

Dickman used to live and practice in Texas, and he began to wonder about patients who became pregnant due to rape in states where abortion is no longer an option. (He is also the medical director of Planned Parenthood Montana and a plaintiff in several lawsuits challenging abortion restrictions in Montana.)

He and a group of colleagues have arrived at an answer. They estimate in a research letter published Wednesday in JAMA Internal Medicine that 64,565 pregnancies have been caused by rape in the 14 states where abortion is banned.

Really? Can you break down the JAMA study and explain to us where they went wrong?
