New Video - 2001 Minnesota

This will likely be the first time those of you who weren't there have seen any of it, since this game was the last one Iowa played that wasn't televised. I remember listening to this one on the radio with my dad. Radio audio is goofy for the first 40 seconds of the video, but then everything is perfect. Enjoy!

I realize this is a highlight tape, but Kyle McCann looked pretty darned good in this game.

I don't remember Kalil Hill (sp.?) being that good but he looked like a stud in that game. wasn't there an issues with papa????? maybe I'm thinking of someone else???

Another great game of highlights you rarely see. Excellent work as always.

Absolutely love that catch and run by Clark at the 10:25 marks. One of my all time favorite Iowa plays. Think he is going to get wrapped up at the 40yd line next thing you now he's carrying Gopher defenders and takes 5 guys to drag him down 20 yards later for a 40 yard gain.

Hill was very talented. He appeared in 1 game with the 2012 Atlanta Falcons. He was suspended 1 year (KF's first year) for the ambiguous violation of team rules. But definitely helped the team get off the mat in 2000 and 2001. Had key plays in the win over Northwestern in 2000 and then had a good 2001 year.

I really thought at that time - as you saw Banks run the option - that the dual threat QB would be the norm going forward at Iowa. I have not necessarily been disappointed ever since but would liked to have seen our offense with that wrinkle many different seasons.

I don't know that it counts, but we lost to PSU last year on that last drive obviouslyand the play that did it was McSorley's escape and run for 20ish. I don't know that you need the option but a threat there is invaluable in my opinion.
