This was kind of a defensive battle. Not much happening in the run game for either team with Jermelle Lewis, spelling an injured Fred Russell, leading both teams' rushers with 25 carries for 81 yards. Wisconsin really seemed to sell out to stop Iowa's run and Banks was able to go 17-30 for 275 yards and two TDs passing.
Plenty of praise for Brad Banks and Iowa in general from Mark Jones, Bob Davie, Rece Davis, and Trev Alberts. This was our first of four straight wins over Wisconsin, and I think we'd all take a similar result this fall in Kinnick.
