Two 7 footers will be a problem as Wisconsin experienced.
Freeman will be challenged for sure and may sit early with fouls. Our frontcourt is very thin and rebounding will be a sore spot the entire season I fear.
I'm expecting a Michigan rout on their floor on a Saturday afternoon.
But then, that's why they play them.

Michigan plays a little loose with the ball imo, but yes they could and should crush us on the boards in a half court game. A healthy Traore at the top of the press as well as his rebounding will be a big help if he’s healthy and ready to go.
Can we take the ball away enough to offset their rebounding advantage and can we hit enough 3 pointers to keep them struggling trying to to come from behind. We will see on Saturday.

Michigan is good. A legit top 25 team right now.

Winning at their place is a tall order. That's why I was so adamant that the Northwestern game was HUGE.

If we're hitting 3s, we have a puncher's chance....but then again, that's going to be the story with every top 25 type opponent we play.

Your username along with the ANF decal is pretty funny.

Expecting a loss here. But would love to see some more toughness. Freeman has to be stronger. Less turnovers and better FT shooting.

Still a great opportunity to STEAL a game on the road against a team that's feeling good about themselves after the Wisconsin road win.
Better rebounding too !

I know this will be taken as blasphemy by some but Goldin reminds me a little of a slightly taller Chris Street. Very versatile and plays with the same intensity Chris did. He is going to be a handful for us. Then if you add Wolf, they are gong to be tough to beat, especially in Ann Arbor.

This is a game where Mulvey could be a surprise factor. The kid has improved a great deal and deserves the chance to prove himself in a BIG game, and the matchups would seem to require Mulvey see some significant minutes. I think he can get it done. At least give him a chance and find out.

It would be helpful if Traore is good to go as well. He could add the toughness and aggression on the boards Iowa is lacking without him. Man, rebounding is fun and mostly effort. I can't understand why Fran has such a difficult time finding guys who want to battle on the boards like their life depends on it. But Traore is one of those guys. Iowa will need him in Ann Arbor.

Has Fran commented on the status of Traore and Koch's availability?

This will be painful; they knocked off a way better Wisconsin team on the road…ugh

Wolf looked really good in the limited amount of the Wisky game that I saw.

I get the comparison and can see what you’re saying……my perspective is it’s a decent comparison understanding that Street was quicker and more athletic.
