Saying a black quarterback has dark skin = suspension.

Having a team named the Redskins = no big deal.

can you say that an irish qb has pale skin or is pasty ?

what was the context here ?

I'm assuming it's over this https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/05/us/49ers-suspend-tim-ryan-over-lamar-jackson-remarks-spt/index.html and this quote, "He's really good at that fake, Lamar Jackson, but when you consider his dark skin color with a dark football with a dark uniform, you could not see that thing. I mean you literally could not see when he was in and out of the mesh point."

He's not wrong... dark football, dark skin, black armbands, dark uniform would make it harder to pick up the football. Much ado about nothing. 49'ers suspended him though, not the NFL.

What Ryan said was simply an accurate observation. Lamar has darker skin. That's not racist, it's a fact.

Johnny Winter's tattoos are easy to see because his skin was almost white. Seeing tattoos on dark skin is difficult. The darker the skin, the more difficult it is to see the detail of the tattoos. That's not racist. It's just a visual reality. Same with anything that pertains to the comparison between color and pigment.

There's no shame in having dark brown skin.

The problem with the comment is it attempts to explain his success as NOT because he's a fantastic QB.... no, it must be because of the color of his skin.

It was a really dumb thing to say.
