Nice comments from Sabin on Iowa

Nick sounds like every other Iowa fan.
What's new..................

he told a reporter that "the big ten better keep an eye on Iowa and what is developing there". That "KF is a great coach with middle level talent, if he gets upper level players, watch out!"

Wait a minute. Is Saban inferring that stars matter?

Don't believe this nonsense, it's just a trick. It says nice comments from Sabin..........as in Allen Sabin. He is a former staff support development specialist, he was dismissed a couple years ago because he was dating KF's second cousin, and it was discovered that he never actually interviewed for the job......so people got all uptight about it. Rumor has it he will be rejoining the staff this summer.

OP is just teasing you with the likeness, don't let him try to convince you for a second that Alabama gives two $hits about anything going on North of the Mason-Dixon line.

Saban is just saying all of that so in the last month of recruiting he can come in and steal some of our players......UGGGHHHHHHH

Sly as a fox....

Whoever did say it, I don't think KF/Iowa is sneaking up on anyone in the Big Ten.

The thing that is really cool, is when you've won several National Championships and become quite famous, maybe moreso than legendary Bear Bryant, 'Everyone' knows how to spell your name.

Like NICK S A B A N

Who's sabin? Was he an Asst coach at Columbus Junction during the 90's?

Saban is obviously intelligent and knows recruiting. Many posters on this board will argue this point in spite of his record. I find it unbelievable that people will argue that Ferentz is better off recruiting lesser quality athletes. Who knows where this program would be if he would have dedicated more energy toward recruiting the last 15 years! It has been shameful. And this crap about Iowa not attracting athletes? We are now aren't we? Top notch programs always can.

I thought it was a factual statement by a good coach. I always wonder why some posters want to crap all over it.

I also thought it was just an observational comment by Sabin. Why do so many read any more in to it?

You are definitely a Democrat - thinking you deserve something just because YOU want it and others have had it! You also aren't very bright!

Todd lickliter got a lot of praise from other big ten coaches when he was at Iowa.

Alabama is a school?

Not that it matters, but what do some people get out of posts like the above or "I thought they tore that school down". Do you think you got em good with that one? Do you think Bama fans are reading this getting upset? It's a serious question. I honestly don't get the point and posts like this happen all the time on this board.

People can draw what conclusions they want from it. I doubt any Bama fans read anything here, and if they did the academic standing of that school is the last thing on their minds probably. I don't think academics is even a consideration there or in the SEC outside of Vandy and perhaps Georgia. It certainly would not stop them from taking a player. The SEC can say its better in football, it probably is...but the Big 10 is light years better as academic institutions overall.
