Nice Toussaint article in the DM Rag

There is a lot of unknown and unknowns in our back court this year. CMac, Joe T. and CJ Fredrick for sure. That's 2 out of 3 unknowns and CMac has a lot to learn. Evelyn would sure add another piece to the puzzle, one that we really need. Our back court is thin and unknown. They could be anywhere from terrible to excellent.

Hmmmm, that seems a bit extreme.

Swap out one of those four with Maise Daley and I could definitely see the “terrible” end of the spectrum.

Maybe go with anywhere from “sub-standard to pretty good”...?

Fair enough. 3 out of 4 unknowns (If we get Evelyn) is a lot.

Going to really be a good player for the Hawks.... backs up Connor this year and provides really good minutes.

Backs up Connor? No way you just hand Connor the starting PG position. Too many flaws in his game to be a starter at that position. Hopefully, he will show some major improvement in three important areas:
1. Man Defense
2. Ability to breakdown the defense down off the dribble.
3. Develop some semblance of an outside shot.
Number one will be very difficult as he will be outmatched athletically by most every PG he has to defend. Please note, at no point can you question his effort.

Agree with everything here. But, considering JW really spent his minutes at SF, Connor is the only guy returning on the roster going into next year who played at guard last year, let alone PG. This is one reason I’m excited about Evelyn. IDEALLY, I’d love for JoeT to win the PG job beside the experience of BE. Connor could be an experienced backup for Joe. Meanwhile, CJ could get his feet wet behind a senior and be ready for more responsibility in 2020. This would be a nice blend of experience/needed skills at guard. BUT, although he has holes, Connor does have some talents, experience and, (most importantly) stability to bring to PG himself. It’s really on the new guys to show they have the consistency to start.

I would be surprised if Toussaint shoots any better than Connor.

I would love to see JoeT be good enough to gradually become the starter, because I view CMac as a really good backup guy, who also is good at the end of games. I honestly don't know what to really expect, especially in his first year. I really wonder how much playing baseball is going to keep CMac from improving his shooting, which I think is his major weakness. Despite his lack of quickness, CMac plays good, tough position defense, and he understands the game really well on both ends.

He shot just over 50% FT, don’t recall what his 3 pt was but t wasn’t good. I’m thinking his game will resemble Zavier Simpson more than Jordan Bohannon.

That's certainly possible.....Simpson wasn't much of a shooter his freshman year but seems to have improved somewhat significantly.

Connor was shooting 12% from the 3pt line 2/3 the way through the season. He finished at a horrendous 20%.

I think it is fair to say three things. One I am disappointed that Fran has stated his roster is set, there are a lot of transfers still out there. He found Cartwright mid-summer. Why quit now when you have 4 unproven guards? Although BE's sophomore year was good. Assuming his injury has healed, I'd say he is proven asset.

Two the backcourt is going to decide how this team succeeds. Fingers crossed we have no more injuries!! Or we may be having Nunge play the 2 spot

Finally, I am wishing every day that JBo can heal quickly!

Fran’s obviously continuing to look. See the Wur kid in another thread. But it’s difficult to see who will appear and develop. There are lots of prospects out there. Those that can contribute and are recruitable are rarer.

Missed that in on Lok Wur. Thanks for the info!
