The Biden administration is watching for any moves by China to close off the Taiwan Strait, and they would prefer that Nancy Pelosi cancel her planned trip.

For all the caricaturing thrown her way, Pelosi is a tough cookie. She comes off well in the article. Hope she stays the course and opens xi a new one.

She has managed to run circles around every Republican politician, excepting Trump (and it was her re-sorting of election procedures and protocols that cost him the election ... at least she publicly took the credit). Even that is open for debate.

In the end, she has shown to be a politician of the most shrewd and ruthless variety. She is someone who cannot be trusted on any handshake type agreement. That reputation in itself will keep the Chinese back on their heels a bit.

It just may be that her true calling is in the international arena. Let's give her a shot; the two ahead of her in power are certainly doomed to failure.
