Nick Raimo

Haven't heard much about his recruitment at all, the only thing I've seen is he was interested in Arizona state. Raimo is solid but I think he might struggle at the next level, doesn't really have any high level offense.

Beat me to it

Maxed out going into his JR year.... of highschool???

Raimo, a four-time Fargo Champion ranked fifth on the Class of 2019 Big Board, will start his junior season at Hanover Park in New Jersey this fall after finishing his sophomore season with a state title.

The high level high school kids who struggle to transition into college are the kids who can't create any offense against high level competition so yes I think he might struggle. Obviously he isn't maxed out as he is young but I can tell you his style hasn't changed at all since beginning high school and he'll have to be able to create some offense to succeed at the next level.

Maybe a good coach can help with this??

Yeah hopefully but I will say it's very hard to develop that offense that can score against the best guys. Maybe he'll end up doing very well as he is a good wrestler but in my opinion when I look at recruits I want to see someone who has a shot that can get him at least in on the leg against the best guys because even if he can't finish those are little details that good coaches can help with, and Raimo goes whole matches without touching a leg as he just waits to try to counter. He might do well like I said but it's definitely tougher for a coach to develop something completely new to a kid and get it to that high level rather than fixing the little datails such as finishing correctly.

But hey if he was gonna be a hawk I would be much more optimistic

I am in AZ and go to the ASU duals....I think that Jones and company are recruiting kids that score and have the tools to score. Kid is very good and I will be happy to watch his progression at ASU. IMO it is great to see a school out west getting top level kids as having a strong program out west is important for overall stability of programs out west where there are significantly less wrestling opportunities for a kid.

Many times kids that are way physical at an earlier stage do not need to use that offense as much so they do not develop it as much in HS, not saying this is the case with him but just more of a general observation.

Coach Jones does a great job of breaking down statistical data on wrestling (he didnwith usaw as well in terms of reporting which scores were used the most internationally) so I am sure if he recruited a kid he sees something that means this kid can hit those critical pieces in order to be successful.
