Curious why we never see JWar competing in free. He was a Jr World medalist in HS. I recall him putting it on Michael Beard in the Jr Team Trials.

Could it be because he wants a period of time to heal his body and clear his mind? Not really having been fan of freestyle or international wrestling, has it always been such a year round grind for those still competing in college? I understand for those who have graduated. Seems to me in a "combat" sport, year round competition will just lead to injury, bodies breaking down, and a shortened career.

Our guys have traditionally wrestled juniors, which he did after his redshirt year and then waited for graduation. Cass is a machine.

I hope so, the machine had a few damaged components in March.

How is taking time off to heal up a bad thing?
Agree with the poster above who advised that.
Competing year around (or close to it) is unsustainable.

FWIW, my nephew won the U20 77kg Greco championship. Attends NMU because of the Greco program but is a huge Hawkeye fan.
