Nissan suffers another blow: Luxury brand Infiniti to ax US dealerships

I’ve always had good luck with Nissans. 3 Altima's and a Sentra. My previous Altima was a 2016 with 180k. Totalled out due to an accident. Otherwise it would still be my youngest’s school car.

The 2024 Music City Bowl will be played in Nissan Stadium.
Kirk Ferentz will attempt to tie Woody Hayes for the all time win total as a B10 coach.

Just dumped my wife’s QX60 and replaced it with a Mercedes GLS. Infiniti was alright, but it didn’t hold up like I wanted. Trim package started falling apart at 7 years, by 10 years it had thousands in deferred repairs mounting up and I dumped it.

My Mercedes E350 just turned 14 and it is running like a charm, 135,000 miles. I’ll probably drive it another 3 years.

My first nice car I ever had was a g37x. It was a great car, but I moved on after 3 years as it was through a lease through work. No complaints about the car though, other than it its AWD being rear wheel biased and not as super duper in the snow as other autos, and the shifter having real metal on it which would burn the shit out of your hand on a hot summer day if the car was parked outside.

I've had three Nissan/Inifiniti cars. 1989 Nissan Maxima, 2003 350Z, and 2004 Infiniti FX35. All were good cars although both nissans had repetitive issues with their window motors. The maxima had every window motor replaced at least once and the 350z had the passenger window motor replaced.

I'm surprised I don't have the 350z shift gate burned into my palm.

The No pic had a G37S hardtop convertible. That thing was a go fast car, I had it at 125 mph with plenty of throttle left.

I've owned two Nissan's in my life:

Murano - used, piece of junk, had to replace tranny after 1 year
Altima - brand new, after two years crap starting breaking

never again!

Always found it odd people are willing to pay more for a rebadged Honda, Toyota, or a Nissan because it says Acura, Lexus, Infiniti.

Are there differences? Sure but different doesn’t always equate to more expensive.

The engine and transmission and frame are certainly all the same.

Marketing hype.

Had a small Nissan truck a long time ago. Lasted over 230,000 miles and I had no complaints.

I always liked the Altima and Maxima. Americans want trucks and SUVs so they kind of miss the mark.

That's not true. I had an Altima as as rental once. The road noise and buzzing from the engine were crazy, and it was a pooch. Nothing like the g37x, which was the cheapest Infiniti you could get. The altima didn't have over 300 HP. Perhaps the maxima is much nicer. No idea - never have driven one.

If you own a Nissan with a CVT transmission, you might as well face the fact that you will be replacing it at some point. It's been an absolute disaster for them as a company.

As for the post saying to go back to being Datsun, they have actually done that I think a couple times in foreign markets (I believe in India was the last time), but both attempts failed.

Pretty much every CVT on the market is a problem waiting to happen,.. Wouldn't own one.
