looks very weak. sorry guys.
It would look very weak if he didn't have an injury.
Idiotbruised ego ?
Agree, idiot, why bother wrestling Clark tonight if there nothing to gain. Whether he beat or lost to nato tonight why let someone as powerful as nato wrench on that shoulder for 7min to win a meaningless daul?Idiot
Right, we didn't need him to win. NATO would have been in the top position wrenching on it for 7 mins. Quite the prediction... I rather your baby Heman not crank on it for even 30 sec and we will work on the seed at BigsAgree, idiot, why bother wrestling Clark tonight if there nothing to gain. These tOSU jabronis are the worst.
The team that hasn't sent out their whole team in years are gonna bitch about Clark protecting his seed against the overwhelming #1
Maybe I misinterpreted the post, but I thought our tOSU brother was actually arguing in favor of keeping Cory out with the injury. Could have gone over my head. These tOSU jabronis are the worst.

Tom and Terry have never been the type of coaches to protect seeds for healthy wrestlers. If Cory weren't nursing a bad shoulder, he would have gone. Shoot -- he wrestled Micic on the road in his first match back and Brock on the road shortly thereafter -- both tough matches in hostile environments that risked further injury to the shoulder. The Brock match, such as it was, will hurt his seed.
I have no doubt that there was a legit injury-related reason to hold Cory out tonight. As much as I would have enjoyed the match, there really would have been very little to gain by sending him out there tonight.
I saw this outcome a couple days after the PSU match. This was a smart move by Tom. Cory had nothing to gain and everything to lose by aggravating his shoulder further. The match IS meaningless if we believe these two will meet again at B1Gs and nationals. I don't understand why this isn't obvious to everyone. Some of these posts are trolling, but some people actually believe it's better to put your season on the line in January rather than March.I agree...Clark has worn that harness for looks and ducked all his good opponents like Micic and Brock, and a host of others throughout his career. Just wrestles the turds to qualify enough matches and then does well in the B1Gs and NCAAs. Cause that's the history of Cory Clark and Tom Brands.
Or, maybe Tom has learned enough of over the years to sit guys who are injured...especially senior to give them a shot in their final tournament. If Cory's season does end in injury while in a dual, the whole wrestling community would be calling Brands stupid. I can't even believe this a thing.
No you got it correctly i think the others misinterpreted it. No way do I think Clark ducked nato, I think Clark is legitimately dealing with a serious shoulder problem. After getting the big ten network and watching for awhile now I would never say nor have I ever seen Iowa wrestlers dodge kids. I am not sure this is the right place to bitch about this but I 100% agree that Ohio state does it. There is nothing more frustrating in life then driving two hours to Columbus to see a match your pumped about only to find out osu is sitting a few of their kids. This happened about 4 time in the last 3 years and I said fu"k it I am not driving down there again. It why I choose to save my time and money and go to carver last year for the first time for big ten finals. Carver is a luxury I hope you fans truly appreciate. My biggest problem with Ryan is when he does this I feel he truly damages the sport as a collective whole.
Tomasello will be seeded over him anyway, he is not saving a seed.
I feel the same. Very frustrating that the Bucks almost never wrestle thier best lineup. Hawks, Penn St., even OK State don't seem to have this problem. At least Ryan generally does have guys ready to compete in March, but if our sport is going to grow we can't marginalize the entire rest of the season.
Great post! I agree 100%. Makes me think of MM and I wouldn't want a repeat for Clarks senior season.looks very weak. sorry guys.

The only thing I don't really like about it, is that I wanted Clark to get a feel for Nato win or lose. We all know Clark is hurt, to what degree is the question. I don't like that he was sat out, but it is really a rare thing for Tom Brands to even contemplate, so there must have been a fine line there.I saw this outcome a couple days after the PSU match. Why would they edit? Clark is ready to go every match - his coach is being smart and getting him to the finish line as healthy as he can. He learned from MM situation a few years ago - even though he wasn't hurt just burnt out and regressed per Delgado, Gopher and lion fans.So in his post-match interview Brands says he held Clark out even though he was able to go, and that he will wrestle next week vs Wisconsin. All the Iowa posters can now feel free to go back and edit their comments.
I guess the Gopher fans were right! When he tears your little guy a new one in 10 days, you're going to wish Clark is ducking. So in his post-match interview Brands says he held Clark out even though he was able to go, and that he will wrestle next week vs Wisconsin. Reread the thread and then try to reconcile Iowa posters views with Brand's interview. Why would they edit?

FYI - heard JRob was at carver last night and commented how great it was to be back at the best environment in wrestling - always loves being back in IC.

Loved being in an atmosphere that wasn't so um...relaxed. Good to have J back home and not on the opposing side for once.
It's always been the case with Tom R...sits people in duals or cedes a season to load up for the following year. Has placed 2nd, 29th, and then back in the top six. Iowa fans would never let a 29th place slide...just way too many expectations. tOSU has produced several world team members and some champs (to include Olympic), a four timer, individual champs and an NCAA title. While it would frustrate me too, not a bad bigger picture.
I disagree. The coaches vote and they know who wrestled in what matches and they also know Clark lost non conference. If they are both undefeated against b10 opponents, Clark will get the 1, IMO. They seem to use previous season as a fairly strong factor in tiebreakers.
Right now I'd say:
1 Clark
2 NATO
3 Richards
4 Montoya
5 Micic
Montoya lost to Richards, but Montoya lost to Micic.
Edit for what shit for brains? Of course he could have gone. He could have gone at midlands too but whether it is a good idea to go is another question. So in his post-match interview Brands says he held Clark out even though he was able to go, and that he will wrestle next week vs Wisconsin. Why bother wrestling duals at all ? Do they mean anything at all ? The Big 10 doesn't even bother to have every team wrestle each other in a dual and crown a champion ! It's all about year end tourny's like the Big 10 and NCAAs of course. Protect the seeding at all costs, which helps improve final placements and scoring in the NCAA's and Big 10 tourny. I don't blame the PAC 10/12/13/14 to skip the NWCA duals. Another joke.
Fans that buy season tickets for Duals are SUCKERS. It's the Friggen Exhibition Season !
guy that ran off to Russia - actually ran and hid from the Great Iowa 285er HollywoodI agree. When opposing teams athletes skip meets to wrestle internationally, why even have a dual?
