Noah Carter enters transfer portal

Know nothing about him but nice stats. A potential target?
Here’s his ESPN profile.

I don’t know anything about him but he’s 6’6, which in my view makes him a little short for a forward in today’s game. However, he’s listed at 230, which means he must be fairly well built. The one thing that stands out to me is he shot 40% from 3 (49 attempts) his freshman year then got progressively worse each following season, shooting at 29% from 3 this year (134 attempts).

I was told he is looking at, and Idk if they are looking back, at Wisconsin, Minnesota, and South Carolina. He is a good player but IMHO he is best suited at a Mid-Major.

Not a P6 player at 6’4. His dad seems to think he is. Attempted to get to Marquette with Shaka last year and now looks like kState .

There are a ton of rumors that him and AJ green are going to ISU to play for AJ's dad. I'm not sure how much truth there are to those, but a lot of people online have been talking about it this last week. Also lots of Uni players were giving him props on his Twitter announcement. So there definitely doesn't seem to be any bad blood there between Noah and UNI.

Our need is not at 3/4, unless someone leaves in addition to Keegan, or is injured. We will have PMac, Kris, Sandfort, and even Rebraca, if we had some other centers who can contribute significantly.

Everything I have read has him listed at 6'6 where are you getting the 6'4 height at? For the record I think Fran my go after him.

I've watched Noah play for years. From an extremely athletic family. His older brother Josh started on two Dubuque Wahlert state championshio basketball teams and his sister was on a couple of state champion volleyball teams at Wahlert and is an all-conference star at Kansas State. Good kid from a good family. Father is very active in his kids' success. Josh is a wide body with great feet and positioning ability, plus he can hit the three regularly. When Senior played Cedar Falls for the Iowa championship, Senior might have won the game if they hadn't tried to go into Carter on nearly every possession in the second half, when he had trouble with CF's double team on him. They lost by a couple of points. He is a very good mid-major player and should stay at UNI. He's not going to beat out Patrick or Chris or Sandfort, and is three inches shorter than Filip. Maybe Kansas State has a place for him. He wants to play at the highest level he can, and I wish him the best. Iowa needs a monster 7-foot center, if they can somehow get one, or develop one.

Have a buddy fairly connected up in CF. He says rumor he hears is that aj is turning pro.

AJ went through Senior Day ceremonies a few weeks ago even though he still has 2 years of eligibility left--pretty sure if he were to transfer he'd be a grad student. Seems to be that the open secret is he'll test the draft waters then go to Ames and play with his dad from everything I heard.

For my record, if Noah leaves to a P6 program he's likely this year's Yessefu. Riding the pine most of the year and fans will wonder what could have been if he'd have stayed.

Fairly well connected into UNI - was recruited at 6’4 and listed as 6’6. Also him standing next to other players shows he’s clearly not.

Fran would be recruiting a bench player. Noah’s short of listed height, about 20-30 lbs heavy to play the three guard, and will completely disappear about every 2-3 games
.
Really good MVC player. Don’t think he’s got the genetics to succeed in a P6 league. Hope the best for him though as he surely is done at UNI now after a second trip to the Portal-verse.

Ames would be the third option. AJ’s grown up a UNI kid and seems to be very loyal. He might well end up with his dad but it’s not going to choice 1 or 2 from what I’ve been told.

That was kind of my thought.
I know what you guys are trying to say but their games are not alike at all. Rebraca is a back to the basket interior player with a pretty good low post game, I think we'll get to see a lot more of it next year. Carter is not a great back to the basket player, he's a face-up guy that would prefer to spend his time near the three point line as opposed to anywhere in the paint. In the MVC, his best games were when a big had to guard him on the perimeter. I think of Noah as more of a poor man's Kris Murray.

Some of you must not have watched any of UNI's games. Noah Carter would be a great addition to ANY team that takes him. He does a LOT of things on the floor. Scores in multiple ways. Ave 15ppg. Shot almost 50% from field...30% from arc. Strong.
I watched a lot of the games. While I like Rebraca and what he does, this guy has WAY more upside. Not even close.---Can block shots, lots of assists, etc.

Fran should be all over this dude. Of course, I hate the fact that he entered the portal in the first place.

Noah got eaten alive against physical teams. Very good MVC player. Not B1G caliber.

Short and a step slow.

Unless one of them is Jacobsen, not sure it’ll matter. He knows how to win in that league even with injuries and turnover.
They haven’t been in tournament in several years.

Carter can likely log some minutes at a power school but he won’t play 30+ like he can now.

I don't suppose Iowa is on his list. I would definitely find a spot for him!
