North Endzone Noise

Very loud in there. I'm not 100% sure all the sound system is up yet either it seemed like the music was all coming from the south endzone. (you can hear it bounce)

I sit in the south end zone lower section and all I can say is wow. It was much more impressive than I expected coming into the stadium. When I started to walk into the opening to the south end zone to get to my section all I could see in front of me was the North end zone. It was a freaking ‘wowzers’ from me. I was blown away

Much improved leg room as well. Hardly have to move when someone needs to walk by.
anyone have beer from behind you seep onto your seat? apparently the concrete walk way behind your seat is level with your seat

Once the new video board is installed in the north endzone it will reflect a lot of the noise back onto the field.

I can’t wait until they make the same addition to the South Endzone.

They could do it without raising capacity much too, which would make it an easier sell to the BOR. They just need to tear out a bunch of the bleachers on the sidelines and replace them with chair seating.

Wonder how the beer sales went. There were people in my Row, in the east stands walking over there buying beers

We were able to sneak into the higher donor's middle section. The standing room only areas you can't see the field from the 5-10 yardline(depending on where you are). Literally. Missed the safety play... They definitely could have designed that one better

I will miss being able to see the TV from the sides tho. That was nice to have when we were running late to games... Or when waiting to get to our seats, because of the time it takes to fill Kinnick in a hurry... That takes a lot of time to fill or empty.

It is a nice addition all-around. Much better seating. Once the facilities are in and the scoreboard is up, it will be quite nice

I think there's a higher probability that the east stands get leveled and replaced with a variation of the NEZ multilevel design than the SEZ getting redone.

Don't know how likely that is but it would really be something if they redone the entire east side. They could curve it around to meet the SE corner of the south endzone.

They need to gut the south endzone and build a matching structure to the North, only it should be bigger since there is more room there.

I don’t even think they need to gut it. Unlike the North endzone, there is enough footprint room on the ground to build a second tier.

South EZ is too new and well constructed to be demolished. It was made to be there for a long time. A modernized look and layout of The east stands would be nice but would need to maintain sightlines from the children's hospital.

It was very nice to have the extra room with the seating in the north end zone. Night and day difference from last year

The wave is a nice thing, but I don't think that it would be the top requirement in a renovation. More premium seating, more restrooms, and concessions would be priority 1a, 1b, & 1c. Like with the NEZ that would require a lot in a small footprint to the existing street which means they have to go vertical. Doing those items and maintaining the hospital view would be a large reduction in seating I would imagine. This wouldn't be done in the next 10 yrs though I'm sure, so who knows what plays out by then. Fun to think about though.

A big thumbs up for the N endzone. Our seats were in the lower section. Beautiful structure and you have to see it in person to appreciate its presence. Well done. Next week Kinnick is going to be insane. And you can bet the N endzone will make it very difficult for ISU. Great experience in Kinnick yesterday.

Coaching staff note to self.....if we get to choose the end zone in OT, choose the north end zone.

That would be going away from the otherwise loudest sections, therefore question would be how much louder it got and whether it is louder than the south. I’d go students 10/10 times.

Makes me wonder how much thought about sound goes into modern stadiums. One would hope LOTS of thought, but I don’t remember hearing this mentioned with new stadium plans.

I think I heard the Seahawks was designed with that in mind, but I may have imagined that.

I can't imagine the new "sound wall" in the N end zone could ever override the hysteria and energy of the student section on the opposite end during clutch moments.

Is it really that loud?

The sight lines from the patios are a low priority since everyone on the club level as a paid seat with a great view. If someone chooses to go inside or to the patios they’re gonna miss a little. They don’t sell standing room only tickets. I’m guessing they especially don’t care that people that snuck in there couldn’t see - stay in your seat = see the safety

I would argue against that, as the areas are obviously made for people to congregate and watch the game. Watching the game with a groups of friends does rock. Especially when there are big moments.

There are several groups that are there who know one another. And that is just the people I know... They will be hanging out with each other at certain times for sure. As will I when I am holding one of the tickets.
I guess we will have to hope the TV monitors are installed by then.
