First Bugles trolls them on Twitter for having a logo on their helmet that looks like, well, a Bugle ... which taste great by the way.

Then Matt Campbell and Jacob Park have a little spat (a few actually) on national TV for everyone to see. What's with Campbell shoulder checking Park?

And finally, what's with all the Clone fans leaving early? Like after halftime?

I have to agree and I think it is best Iowa roots for the Cyclones every game here on out as much pain it is (as I am not originally from Iowa just went to school there) but still we want our opponents to win as much as possible as it only helps the Hawks

Wouldn't you leave at halftime to go drink if you were a clone fan? They do that then if the game gets close or there is a chance at a comeback then they high tail it back into the stadium.

The Bugles thing was mentioned on another thread. I LOL'd because the first thing I said to the guy next to me was, "Why am I hungry for Bugles right now?" He didn't see it, so I thought I might be the only one.

And yes, they are delicious.

Edit: OMG I just went to a Twitter and searched "Bugles"

I missed the shoulder check. Anybody have a video of it?

I'll admit I was rooting for them.

Man t would be nice it they could win 7-8 games and make the series look somewhat interesting to those outside the state.

They looked extremely undisciplined. Texas has a good defense, but their offense was hot garbage. Pretty sloppy game all around.

I can't root for teams that have D-bags for coaches and players that act classless like the first unsportsmanlike penalty DLinemen, Park, etc.

So what kind of Hawk fan wouldnt want the Clowns to win a game like that ......the answer is a dumb one! So how bad would the hawks look if State lost all of there remaining games? Or how good would they look if they won all of there remaining games, I dont know how to simplify it any more than that for the dummies out there that want Them to loss every week!!

Telling the nation that your starting QB from last year is now your middle LB screams rinky dink program. Regarding the helmets, it's not like ISU has a ton of opportunities to be on ESPN so why not show your brand/regular helmet vs a bugle? Seems like a bit of a missed opportunity. And yes, bugles are freaking good.

What, exactly, are you thinking it helps?

Agree. I have never understood the "we need to get Iowa State to be a really good team so beating them means something." My view is that it's darn near impossible for both Iowa and Iowa State to be really good at football at the same time, for anything more than a year or 2 at a time. In a state with less than 3 million people, there are not an abundance of high-level players produced in the state every year. For the high-level in-state kids, I want Iowa to be the only viable option (at least when compared to ISU). Of course, for the truly high-level guys (like Waggoner) the big boys from out of state descend.

But Iowa State being consistently good is not a good thing long-term for Iowa football.

Nothing isu does will help the image of our program in the eyes of sports writers on the coasts. They dont care and are paid not to care.

You're thinking short term, I'm thinking for the long game. ISU being good will hurt Iowa's recruiting. I realize people are butt hurt over a DB TV guy calling us the fake ID, but plan for more than just this season. ISU is just a very small piece of our SoS. We absolutely do not want ISU to become a solid program. Ride out a few years, then when ISU is left out of the musical chairs of the next conference shakeup, we can put them in our rear view mirror.

ISU needed this win badly. It was a home game against an opponent that was not really better than them. I thought they would take a small step up this year, but now I see only about 2 more wins for them this year.

My question as well.

Same here. We should root against Iowa State every game. Them being good doesn't help the Hawks in any way. And they would have to have about a half-century of success to be anywhere close to a respectable program. A couple of good seasons for the Cyclones does nothing for the series and only hurts Iowa in the long run.

I've heard from a mutual friend that Lanning hates Park. Apparently Park and his family were ruthlessly critical of Lanning last year.

Park and his family...man I bet that's some household. Goober city.

Not a good time to have your team falling apart. Oklahoma will destroy them.

It will take them a decade or two of 7-8 wins per year for the needle to move for anyone outside of Iowa to take notice.

Well I guess I am dummy then.....or maybe it is you??? Its called a rivalry and I would be just fine if they never won a game, I would be fine if they just closed down the whole school.
Highly doubt Bama roots for Auburn, UNC roots for Duke, USC roots for UCLA, etc. Or maybe nobody is a dummy in this case because who the F cares what other fans want to happen with the teams we play in our schedule

This. It was a bad football game. Again, why can't they play every game like the Iowa one? Baffling.
