Between the Ohio State beatings the last few times and every other ranked team in recent seasons, maybe not as long as you think... But not sure.
Iowas defense was on the field for 21+ minutes in the first half because their offense had like 50 yards and they only gave up 12 points. If they had an offense that could do anything in that first half, they probably score 3-7 points and that is an entirely different game. They got picked apart, but they didn’t wilt and kept them in it when they didnt deserve to be.
I also think the lack of depth at CB had the LBs pulling extra responsibilities which kind of made them hesitant to commit to either a lane or coverage. Seemed the whole chemistry was out of whack.
The defense was terrible and could not tackle a dummy right from the initial kickoff. They only stopped MSU once the whole game.

Hey Doc, you may want to look at the drives MSU had in the first quarter alone. If they were tired in the first 15 minutes maybe it was because they weren't stopping anything MSU forced down their throats. Poor tackling and ghost coverage from our right side D-backs kept them on the field as much as, or maybe even more than the pitiful Offense that showed up at East Lansing.
