Anyone use these day-to-day?

ReMarkable seems perfect for what I am looking for, but the interface seems clumsy and the thing is very expensive.

iPad has a lot better functionality and fits with all my other Apple devices, but the writing experience isn’t as good.

Anyone have any experience with these or other devices?

I am really intrigued by Remarkable …. But the price is insane. I’ve been wishing the price would come down from when it first launched… I can buy a lot of note pads for $600

use the lutehawk method

Never heard of the remarkable, that's interesting.

It's funny this came up, every year after the 1st of the year 3 or 4 people start showing up with their tablets to meetings to take notes with. (going to get organized in 2025!) By the end of January they all are back to bringing in either an organizer or just a note pad. It never lasts we were just joking about it.

I hate writing on tablets personally we have a few at home.

I'm old school. I had a Surface and also have an ipad with a stylus but I didn't really like either. I print my own note paper using a faded/faint grid in excel, where it automatically three hole punches the paper on the copier. I keep those pages in binders for each matter I am working on. If I need it digital, I can scan the sheets. I prefer having the physical sheets I can highlight, put stickies on, etc.

I need a tablet to organize my workout plan!

I have a Remarkable. I like it. It's basically an infinite legal pad.

The e-reader capabilities are underrated. There a web plugin that let's you "save and read later" any web page. Also good for reading PDFs, if you need to read a lot for work or pleasure. Better on the eyes than looking at an LED backlit screen all the time.

Do you use it mostly standalone or move documents back and forth with a laptop or desktop?

Mostly from the Remarkable (taking notes) to the desktop (saving the notes for longterm).

But there is some back and forth. Like if I want to have a really large PDF document or article available to read from my Remarkable.

The ability to sync the tablet notes and have desktop usability is key for me. The remarkable cloud service is nice, but you'll need to clean your notes off regularly IMO. Otherwise it gets too cluttered. In the device.

Just the writing on glass aspect. I’d like to try the paperlike screen covers.
I've heard they are great, but I wonder how much they degrade the image quality for lots of other things.

But here's the thing ... If the iPad and Remarkable cost about the same, only one of them actually does lots of other things. So why not go with the iPad?

In fact, if you are thinking of buying a Remarkable and an iPad, why not buy 2 iPads and put the paperlike stuff on one of them?

I suggest a large one and a Mini. Everybody says the Mini is great for notes.

[Disclaimer: I don't take notes. On those rare occasions when I have a thought I want to recall later, I email myself. And then, because it's an email from me, I don't bother reading it.]
