you can’t always get what you want!
Cold, snowy, rainy, overcast and gray! Today was a typical Iowa November winter’s day. So how do you react to a day like this? COMFORT FOOD!

When you are retired what do you do? You jump in your car and drive to Pella and load up on the bakery and meat market goods!
Dinner tonight included a warmed up ring of IntVeld’s bologna, some Strawtown Cheese and Smoked Beef dip, crackers, a couple of St. Nick cookies, cup of black coffee, a “ crisp” to dunk in your coffee and your favorite Dutch pastry....Not all was consumed however...and in reserve are a couple of Almond coffee cakes ( for the weekend!)
The best thing about where I live is that “home” is only 45 minutes away...but it might as well be 6 hours away. But damn it....” home” has some really great comfort food for days like today! ;)

Post here when us taxpayers pay for your bypass surgery. Feel free to list the meds we are currently paying for.

My wife buys the can of fried onions to put on the Green Bean Casserole at Thanksgiving. I like to "test" them to make sure they are up to our standards:)

Already had mine...21 years ago. Long before my MediCare Days. Actually, the meds I take a on the cheap side...I buy the more expensive ones I take from Canada at my expense. But, that bologna...it’s worth the roll of the dice!
