I didn't read the article, but you should familiarize yourself with Iowa GOP politics before you comment.
Having spent the first 37 years of my existence in Sioux County, I think I'm aware of Iowa GOP politics. My brother was friends with and a teamate of Vander Plaats in high school, the word 'kingmaker' simply made me chuckle.
As stated in the article you didn't read, that area will always vote for the most conservative candidate, not the one that will actually win....i.e. Santorum and Huckabee. Not exactly 'kings'
Is that why BuenaVista, Calhoun and Sac counties are poisoning the drinking water down here then?
The man is a total TOOL. I cannot figure out what he does for income. Perhaps he just fleeces the Dutch communities. (Which is impossible without a Hollander name like Vander Tool.)
Peddling fear and inciting hatred can generate a nice income. He's doing alright for himself.
