Good point.

Odd for a leftist like jscott to be praising the trade bill.

He'd be the only Dem I've come across that is happy with it.

That being said, it gives Hillary a safe topic that she can rip Obama on.

Even blind squirrels find an acorn now and then.

Lame duck? Maybe not as far as this is concerned, but in reality this is a sort of pyrrhic victory. If it were a better law, it never would have been contested in court. The fact it got to SCOTUS tells us exactly that. Even the staunchest supporters have to admit this.

The conservatives would have challenged anything obama got passed on health care. That's all they do. They have no ideas.

Winning on the ACA again was huge. Getting Boehner and McConnell to whip Congress into line for him was huge. And, I think either tomorrow or Monday there will be another luke warm victory for Obama when the Supreme Court settles gay marriage.

The only reason the GOP backed Obama on the trade thingy was because they feel it will alienate some Dem lawmakers with the labor unions, and in turn, will get them a larger majority in the House. This has nothing to do with working with the Prez... for the good of America or anyone but themselves. The GOP only has their own best interests in mind. I gotta feeling this will come back and bite them in the ass.

Please don't take this as a slam to your viewpoint, "lucas80".

That and the TPP is at it's base, a very big business concept. Not something a Liberal/Socialist President comes out on the campaign trail and supports.

Matter of fact, I am certain we all heard rhetoric from him that continually spewed the exact opposite.

"We have to keep jobs from going overseas... "We have to make China play by the rules. "We have to support small business and re-ignite American manufacturing....blah, blah".

He got me with it in 08'. I was on to his game by 12'.

Trade victory? The TPA passed which takes away the legislators ability to debate or legislate on a crap trade agreement which gives away portions of American sovereignty so that foreign corporations bottom dollar is not hurt. It also puts us in a trade agreement with countries with slave labor. These trade agreements have created trade deficits for America every time. Trump is actually right about us getting our behinds handed to us over and over again on these things, and so are many progressives and other honest people. Our trade deficit is around a billion dollars a day and 11 trillion in total which has something to do with the huge loss of manufacturing over the years.

Jscott doesn't often read the fine print. He wasn't very good with math as a child, or as an adult.

Is there any way you could get the donkey high, record it and post on youtube for us?

Well, actually I'm a bit of a hypocrite when I say this: just ask jscott to put something up and you'll get the same thing.

He got the trade deal because of those evil republicans. Shows what happens when he governs in a non partisan way(something he has rarely done)
