Observations after rewatching the game

The good
- Cade's mobility and ability to elude pressure is promising
- OL looked better, especially in the 2nd half
- TE play was very good - 4 of Lachey's catches resulted in first downs, Ortwert has speed to get deep, Ostrenga is a man now
- WR play looked good, VanderZee and Gill were solid, add in Brown and we should be much umproved
- K. Johnson is our best back and Mouton was solid
- Defense was salty - especially our front seven
- Special teams are special

Not so good
- Need to clean up allowing weekside defense getting to our running backs in the backfield
- We ran a lot on first and second down and the Redbirds stacked the box with nine all day. Need to make teams tespect the pass
- A few too many penalties

Overall a very good start

I liked some of the wrinkles in the passing game, like, the TE in motion to the sideline and whether the defense picks him up or not, a couple of nice 10+ yard slant passes, the running backs were open many times so if the passes can get to them that is like a long handoff/lateral to them in open space.
