It’s seems to me that refs want to keep the number of fouls per team pretty even. With that said, why doesn’t Fran have his players get 7+ fouls early on in each half so they can hack away the last part of every half. I’ve seen this go against iowa plenty of times now and would love to see Fran try this out. Put some bench guys in at the 15 minute mark and for the next 5-7 minutes fouls away. Should keep the starters out of foul trouble and they can be a lot more physical down the stretch.

What have I been saying. As Iowa starts looking good we get a sudden bout of really biased officiating. Indiana was obscene and, let's just say, there aren't many 11 minute points in any Iowa game where Luka isn't drawing some kind of shooting foul. The officials turned Illinois loose for more than the last quarter of the game.

Its how the Big Ten works, has always worked and will work for the foreseeable future.
